What is the correct way to wear your Wedding Band
& Engagement Ring?
I've been told engagement first, band last..some say the
day u get married u remove the engagement to the right hand..
so your wedding band gets placed...and then you add the
engagement ring?
Which is it?..I hear both is ok..but what is the correct way?

I've Seen And Heard The Day One Is Married, Engagement Ring Is On The Right Hand, Then Once Wedding Band Is Placed, Engagement Ring Is Positioned On Top

That's the way I heard it too Freestylebliss.......

ditto..n then they say...your engaged first..so that goes first..
and then your married second, so that goes second..lol it's
been driving me crazeee..:nutz ...

Europeans wear the bands and engagements on the right hands.

But you had it right the first time. Engagement First then Wedding band. Think about it, which came first?

Certain cultures still hold true to there European ways so it may differ amongst them.

well ive worn mine both ways..cuz i would be told..
"your wearing it wrong"...but my hubby would say the
same thing...so imma go w/what he says..lol! :meinlove

i wear my engagement ring on top only because i take it off when i sleep because its always getting caught on the blanket. that way, my wedding ring stays on at all times. i actually moved my wedding band up a little bit and i have a permanent "ring" on my finger. i guess thats from wearing it for almost 8 years!

LOL.. good Idea Heidee... considering his opinion is the only opinion that matters... smart lady!!! LOL..

Actually, I think whatever way you want to wear it is fine.

I know the circumstance is different, but I know a gay couple who wore matching engagement rings, and when they had their commitment ceremony, they removed the engagement rings completely, only wearing the bands.

Then, they had the engagement rings mounted on a plaque with their engagement date, and wedding date engraved on it.

I'm not sure if religion plays a part in this as well but, I'm Catholic and I know when I got married, the priest told me that the day of my wedding I should switch my engagement ring to my right hand so that the wedding band goes on left hand first and then latter I could switch the engagement ring back over the wedding band. The reason I was told is that your wedding band is to be closest to your heart and it really is the symbol of the ceremony that unites you as one.
