Freestyle would have still been all over American radio stations and on tv all the time if only websites like ClubFreestyle had existed between 1990 to 1992!Unfortunately the internet wasn't around commercially at the time.I guess vice president Al Gore wasn't finished perfecting his "creation" lol!Honestly internet websites when Freestyle was a huge force would have made a big difference in those times.Like the famous Latin music artist Jon Secada once said it was too late, too soon, much to soon baby. You had to see it for yourself,we were too late too soon.Too late with the internet to keep freestyle on top the mainstream and were big in the mainstream to soon for the internet to take it to the next level like the Grammys and movie screen could you imagine movies with George Lamond & Will Smith or K7 with Antonio Banderas,Cynthia with Marc Anthony or Safire with Jennifer Lopez.Coro and Selma Hayek.I still believe this someday may happen whether Freetyle makes a comeback in the mainstream or not just because America's entrtainment scene is becomming alot more Latin due to the fast growing Latin population and strong economic market that Latins represent to this nation. That fact in itself may someday help Latino freestyle artists to get mainstream recognition they deserve.I still belive internet sites like this and many others before it it has kept freestyle music alive and has even made it more popular during the Latin expolosion.Just a thought. What does everyone else think?!GOD Bless,Omar 🙂

To answer the question posed in the title of your thread, No.

Freestyle sites were around during our music's last radio resurgence in 1996 and they didn't make a bit of difference. Even if the Freestyle sites weren't around today, the fans would still listen to Freestyle (of course they might not be up-to-date on the few current releases). While the Freestyle sites make a minimal impact, they do not dictate what Freestyle songs are worthy for radio airplay. The Freestyle websites are a way for the Freestyle fans, artists, producers, etc. to connect with one another, nothing more (say what you want - it's the truth).

The problem is much deeper. It has everything to do with quality. The music speaks for itself. If people were releasing quality Freestyle recordings like we saw in the 1980's through 1992, then radio would pay attention.

The only way for Freestyle to make a comeback is for those involved in the music-making process to start putting their heart & soul into their product and turn out consistant quality Freestyle records.

If Freestyle has to depend on internet for it's longevity then u might as well count it out, I would have to say 10-20% of site members probably support the music thru puchase, while 90-99% trade it for free, reasons like this have weakened the heart and strive for excellence for alot of freestyle producers. Personally I continue to do it, for 1- my personal love of it, 2-My artists personal love for it 3-MAYBE we can make a difference in the music we create and 4- there are those of your that "Truly" support Freestyle and that keeps our heads up.....but we don't depend on the internet or it's sites for sales of financial support because it hardly exists....but for those of you that do, all us producers and artists that are still do it, do it for you, the TRUE supporters, not the downloaders and mp3 traders...Although there are 2 or 3 Sites that give great freestyle news and updates and promotion, most of these sites have become pretty much places for chat and friends and stuff, which is REAL cool, but many labels have realized that alot of mp3 trades occor within memebers of each site and that is not beneficial to a growth of a music company, there for I personally do net depend on Internet for Freestyle's resurgance, i mean not for nuttin, CF is a real good site that supports KTU 1000% ....and what does KTU do?? they sh*t on CF for promotin their events...so to me, not even radio supports the internet sites...but thqat's just my opinion....Pete (D.O.S)
