Many fo you know that I'm in a off broadway traveling theatre group. I have a song that i wrote and will be perfroming. my problem is that my music director was accompying me by piano then after 3 weeks of not practing, he hands me a cd and says here the music to my song. he did it on a keyboard w/background instruments. the point is that i can't grt the melody now, it's different from the piano. I'm goign to take voice lessons. How many are needed to get me on track and was is the normal price? i'll be paying $30.00 in NYC for 1 hr.

well my friend took voice lessons because she joined an a capella choir (in high school). Her lessons were $10 (well this is Iowa.. everything's cheaper here -- so I'm assuming $30 for NYC is reasonable) and it took her a few months to start noticing results in her singing (one lesson per week). But overall they are beneficial apparently.

you can pay from 50 bucks and up and i think 50 is the cheapest.
not sure if lessons will put you on key you need someone who knows the song to just guide
you probably.
you can always call an instructor and work something out explain what you need and see of they can help you with that specific need.
