Vancouver beat out the others to get the 2010 Olympic winter games :yeey this is the 21st winter games and only beat out South Korea by 3 votes :yeey...Too bad Toronto still hasnt had their chance to host the Olympics but still its in Canada
I guess cuz its not in the U.S. no one really cares lol...well this in a way sux cuz it puts Toronto's odds wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy low of getting the 2012 summer Olympic bid and New York was bidding for Olympics too just can't remember if it was the summer or winter and cuz North America just got it with Vancouver's win Toronto and New York may be shut out of their chance (which in my opinion would have been way better locations) 🙁

Lol makes no dif to me Vancouver is on the other side of the country its closer for us to go to the U.S. from here...this will only cost the rest of the country money...but it is still cool that its coming here...i got mixed feelings about this lol

mixed feelings gina? ya i guess so, think what would happen if toronto's bid for 2008 got thru. the gridlock with more construction, the poor poor gardiner expressway, the debt, the debates.. i hope vancouver will handle it better. but if this turns out like montreal 1976 with their monstrous debts then these olympics wont be a good idea.

Whistler is where most of the events will be taking place. It will be good for the decling economy and tourist industry in that town. If Toronto's bid had gone thru than Vancouver would not have won this one. Had Toronto won it that desgusting area by the water front would have FINALLY been developed.
