This is a guy who's banned recorded music on TV, in public places, and at weddings(To "protect the true culture of the Turkmen people"), men wearing long hair, ballet/opera, lipsynching(There goes Ashlee Simpson's Turkmenistan tour dates!LOL!!), news readers from wearing makeup(Because Niyazov couldn't tell male and female anchors apart!), and all video games(because they're too violent). In addition, the leader of this former Soviet Republic fired 15,000 healthcare workers (and replaced them with untrained army conscripts), closed all hospitals outside of Ashkabad(saying that anyone who got sick could come to the capital), closed all libraries(saying that Turkmens don't read anyway), ordered doctors to swear an oath of loyalty to himself(Instead of the Hippocratic Oath), and ordered that young people be banned from getting gold tooth caps or gold teeth(Suggesting that they chew on bones to preserve their teeth!!).
Does anyone else here think Mr. Niyazov is ready for the White House(With very soft white walls)?
