TO REMEMBER ME
GIVE MY SIGHT TO THE MAN WHO HAS NEVER SEEN A SUNRISE,
ABABY'S FACE OR A LOVE IN THE EYES OF A WOMEN.
GIVE MY HEART TO A PERSON WHO'S OWN HEART HAS CAUSED NOTHING BUT ENDLESS DAYS OF PAIN.
GIVE MY BLOOD TO A TEEN-AGER THAT WAS PULLED FROM THE WRECKAGE OF HIS CAR SO THAT HE MIGHT LIVE TO SEE HIS GRAND CHILDREN.
TAKE MY BONES,EVERY MUSCLE,EVERY FIBER AND NERVE IN MY BODY AND FIND A WAY TO MAKE A CRIPPLED CHILD WALK,
TAKE MY CELLS IF NECCESSARY,AND LET THEM GROW
SO THAT SOMEDAY A SPEECHLESS BOY WILL SHOUT AT THE CRACK OF A BAT
AND A DEAF GIRL WILL HEAR THE SOUND OF THE RAIN AGAINST HER WINDOW.
BURN WHAT IS LEFT OF ME AND SCATTER THE ASHES TO THE WINDS TO HELP THE FLOWERS :IF YOU MUST BURY SOMETHING ,LET IT BE MY FAULDAUPHIN TS,MY WEAKNESSES AND ALL PREDJUDICE AGAINST FELLOW.GIVE MY SINS TO THE DEVIL.GIVE MY SOUL TO GOD.IF BY CHANCE YOU WISH TO REMEMBER ME,DO ITWITH A KIND DEED OR WORD TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS YOU.IF YOU DO AS I HAVE ASKED,I WILL LIVE FOREVER.

Hey Music...That was great! Thanks for sharing it...

Not trying to call out Musiclady2424, to be fair, she never said she wrote this, but this is a part of a poem written by Robert N. Test and is called "To Remember Me".

The part before what Musiclady2424 posted goes like this:

The day will come when my body will lie upon a white sheet neatly tucked under four corners of a mattress located in a hospital busily occupied with the living and the dying. At a certain moment a doctor will determine that my brain has ceased to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my life has stopped.
When that happens, do not attempt to instill artificial life into my body by the use of a machine. And don't call this my deathbed. Let it be called the Bed of Life, and let my body be taken from it to help others lead fuller lives.

Then comes the part MusicLady posted.

no he is right i did not right this.
when i went to see my dad in the hospital i saw it on a board and i thought it would be nice to read it to my father if he ever dies at his funeral, and i wrote it down and i thought it was so nice that i'd share it on here yeah and that is the guy that wrote that poem. poems that i write you will know that i wrote it cuz i'll tell you, but poems with nothing added i did not wright some i did and some i don't but i never thought i had to explain who wrote it . so from now on my poems will be dotted mc.musiclady.and i never did say i wrote that .

Hi Musiclady!

I've never read any of his other work, but I am familiar with this piece you posted here. I've seen it in Dear Abby articles.

Yes, he does have talent, and this piece in particular touches me.

It reminds me of a story not too long ago. An American family was traveling through Italy, and their 10 year old son was shot by the mafia. He was an innocent bystander. The doctors at the local hospital tried to save him but were unable to. They approaced the family about donating his organs. One would think that to spite Italians for the crime they would say no. They said yes, and 5 different patients got various organs from their son.

Normally, they don't let donors and receivers meet, but under the circumstances, they let the families meet a year later, so the patients could thank this generous family.

damn that sounds like a something out of a movie . i seen a movie something like that but in this movie these lil girls got hit by a car and her mother donated there organs and her husband who was also hit :she had given his heart to a man who was awaiting a heart transplant. it was a good movie .i forget the name. but as soon as i find out i'll let you know.it's worth the viewing.
