George Lamond? King? I don't know about that one. Which reminds me of another similar thread that was posted a while back in which I asked if anyone has direct contact with G.L. to ask him what he thinks about all this 'king of freestyle' jazz......no one's gotten back with his reply. I bet he won't agree with it though. From what I hear, he is a modest individual.

Before the George Lamond Defense League comes after me, please know this:

I am not putting the man down. I am not disrespecting him. I am a supporter of his work and have been since his "Party Your Body" days back in the 80's (still have my 2 12" copies of that by the way). I just think 'king of freestyle' is too much if there is such a thing and I think the man would probably find the title amusing.

My apologies. You are most definitely right. I meant to say his "Bad Of The Heart" days. Must have had a brainfart for a second there. Please don't kill me.

I think the King of Freestyle should be up to each individual. There are so many talented artists out there and we all have our favorites. I actually know for a fact one artist that doesn't feel really comfortable with that label. There's no competition, all these artists appreciate there fans and I think that they are all bigger than a title. Stevie B, George Lamond ,Johnny O are all great artists. No need for a king. Enjoy them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JohnnyO rocks! I wouldn't mind calling him the king of Freestyle!
