SLIPPERY WHEN WET: DUAL DISK and 5.1
(Wednesday, August 17, 2005)

BON JOVI ROCK CLASSIC 'SLIPPERY WHEN WET' ISSUED IN DUAL DISK FORMAT FEATURING CD/DVD WITH 5.1 SURROUND SOUND AND MUSIC VIDEOS

A quintessential album of popular rock, and one of the '80s biggest sellers, Bon Jovi's SLIPPERY WHEN WET recalls that decade with an audio/video release in the new dual disc format. SLIPPERY WHEN WET (Island/Mercury/UMe), released September 20, 2005, presents he original album in stereo on the CD side and in 5.1 Surround Sound and high-resolution stereo on the DVD side. The latter also includes the music videos for "You Give Love A Bad Name," "Livin' On A Prayer," Wanted Dead or Alive," "Never Say Goodbye" and "Wild In The Streets."

The release follows the success of late 2004's 100,000,000 BON JOVI FANS CAN'T BE WRONG..., a mammoth box set comprised largely of previously unreleased recordings from the band's vast archive. With SLIPPERY WHEN WET originally issued in 1986 and Bon Jovi debuting its latest album, HAVE A NICE DAY -- also on September 20 -- the albums booken nearly 20 years of a truly epic career in rock. Certified 12 times platinum, SLIPPERY WHEN WET earned a prestigious Diamond Award in 1995.

The group's landmark album was produced by Bruce Fairbairn, engineered and mixed by Bob Rock and recorded in Vancouver, British Columbia. SLIPPERY WET WET was the band's third album, after 1984's BON JOVI and 1985's 7800 FAHRENHEIT.

SLIPPERY WHEN WET was the fulfillment of the band's dream. The album reached #1, as did the singles "You Give Love A Bad Name" and "Livin' On A Prayer." Also peaking in the Top 10 was "Wanted Dead or Alive." All three songs became musical touchstones. "Never Say Goodbye" became a Top 20 Mainstream Rock hit. The album's other tracks included "I'd Die For You," "Without Love," Raise Your Hands," "Social Disease" and "Let It Rock."

In Bon Jovi's triple decade career, the band has sold more than 100 million units worldwide and performed more than 2,500 concerts in 50 countries for more than 32 million fans. HAVE A NICE DAY, the group's ninth studio album, will be released September 20.

** Now, above is the basic press release. Here's the info Obie O'Brien (the band's engineer and our embedded reporter) wanted to make sure you knew:
"Myself and my accomplice, Mike Rew (also known as Yahoo #1 and Yahoo #2) went back into the vaults and pulled out the original analog master tapes. I listened to every song, every track and I found that there were some guitar tracks that weren't used... there were some little intro pieces that were never used... I found some stuff going on at the end of some of the songs after what you've always heard as the end of the songs on Slippery When Wet. So, I put some stuff in there that you've never heard before. If you look at the tracklistings, you'll see that some of the times on the 5.1 mixes are slightly longer than on the originals and that's because the songs themselves are slightly different with these small bits of music. Now, don't get me wrong - there's nothing earthshatteringly different about these songs but for the real sonic fan, there are some cool changes you'll notice. So, if you're a 5.1 fan or just a Bon Jovi fan who needs that extra few seconds on 'Social Disease' this is a must have. Sit in the middle of the room, turn the lights down and turn it up real loud and I guarantee you'll have an amazing listening experience. If you like this 5.1 mix of Slippery, the next time you see me, I'd like a high-five, or an 'atta, boy!" or a dollar."

Wow you gonna have fun with this! 😀 Looks like they did a great job on the dvds :heee

That's it...now you just made up my mind. I was going to be nice this Saturday coming up when we go out and not play the Slippery CD, but now that's ALL I'm going to play, and 2 of the songs are going to be put on constant repeat smartass! :lol
