I was in china town with the fam the other day, and I came across this CD La india BREAKING NIGHT. I mean I knew she had a cd, but never though that
the whole cd was Dance Freestyle. Anyways to make a long story short this homeless guy was selling a lot of junk in the side walk including used cd, when i saw this cd in the ground it was to my luck that the guy only wanted a dollar for it. I was like OMG i gave the 10 dollars and i mean after hearing the whole cd i would have pay more, Great story, Great find. After analyzing the whole cd it was to my surprise one of the best old school freestyle cd i ever heard. This cd was produced by the legendary JELLYBEAN BENITEZ and you could really hear the dedication he put in this project. I now consider La India one of the best Freestyle diva ever. DENGEL Love Always.

Man im just upset that i never heard the whole record before and i have came across DJ's that had the whole album and really never care to hear it. I LOVE YOU INDIA mama.
 
One of my first full length freestyle albums. I got the cassette back in 1989, I believe, and is still one of my favorites. It was the first I ripped into my pc, in case it ever got eaten. I love 'When You Were Mine' and 'I'm Through With Love' is amazing too. Now I have all of India's cds.
 
You have mentioned one of the great if not the best singing divas.
Never got that album, but I have almost all her 12" singles incuding
"Mirage" my all time favorite, with Jelly Bean Benitez at the production
helm. I got the privilege to see her perform in Miami back in 95 and
you can feel the emotion she puts into every song she sang.

You know shes the only freestyle artist that i havent seen in action siging yet. Im telling you guys this cd is a must have to all freestyle lovers. Im a reborn FREESTLE lover becouse of her. I rapidly put it in my IPOD and it gave me an extra boost on the weight lifting in the gym. LOL Tank truck where cant i hear the mix.
 
Is the song "The Lover who rocks you all night" on that CD? If it is, can you pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease post it up on here as an MP3, I've been looking for the original version to that for years!!! Thanks...
 
it wasnt freestyle but imo there is nothing better than her early Eddie Palmieri period. her debut with yemaya y ochun and mi primera rumba was her best.

Just curious, why is everyone referring to her as "La India"?? I have all her freestyle vinyl singles and CD singles, and her full-length CD "Breaking Night", and they only say "INDIA" on the label. Even on the salsa and reggaeton songs that she recently recorded with Tito Nieves, she is only going under the name "INDIA". Where did this "La India" is coming from? Did she release some material under that name at some point in the past, or is that her real name or something?

Actually, come to think of it, I always wondered why she even used the name "India". I mean, I don't think she is of Indian decent, so what made her choose that name? Any info would be appreciated.

She's one of my 5 all-time favorite freestyle artists!

Yeah the album is called "When the night is over" - Little Louie Vega & Marc Anthony. It's pretty good, "Ride on the Rhythm" was the hit off the album. But he also does a cover of Dan Hartman's "The Name of The Game" and it features Tito Puente on a few of the other tracks. And India appears on 10 of the 11 tracks on the album as a backup singer.
