I'm the Only Freestyle here...everyone's in the Ra
I remember moving to Puerto Rico in the early 80's. The Freestyle scene was taking form....then breakdancing got my attention. Those two combined and created an incredible environment, such that till this day I still call my old "Break" buddies and reminisce about those days...in my opinion "the best days of my life". I still have about 200 old school mix tapes! Anyone else here ever perform some "windmills" while listening to "Let the music play", back in the day?

Ahhh, da memories

I clearly remember Shannon's Let The Music Play Dub Version wearing out the boom boxes! I did some breakdancing for a quick minute before I realized that I was much more interested in Shannon's music. Damn shame we did not have the internet or EBay back then!

My earliest Freestyle memory was in New Jersey 1984-1985... Lisa Lisa's Can you feel the beat...Shannon..Let the music play...Expose...Point of no return...Then I didnt know that was Freestyle...Later that Spring I was riding in the car w/my Brother and Hanson&Davis Hungry for your Love comes on the radio I was hooked...1986 Montreal Canada I met my Forever Love (my Hubby) NEY...At that time it was Judy Torres...No reason to cry...Promise Circle...Be mine tonight...Noel..Silent Morning..Tolga.. Leave it all behind.....TKA....Scars of Love...Sweet Sensation...Sincerely Yours...I could go on and on.....😉

That same old sound is still around. Check out Flying Step's album from www.zyx.de ; the best in its category. Also, check out the freestyle single from Poland's United-United is back (Tic Tac Records/Sony Polska); today's freestyle, old school breakdance hehe
