I just wanted to stop the world for a minute, and say thank you.
Thank you for always giving us more.
When you first came on the scene you always took your shows to the next level, not content with giving the same old song and dance.
When things got tough, you made sure no matter what we heard new TKA music.
When things got tougher and Tony, you, and Angel split up, you gave us a Greatest Hits cd, and added 2 new songs with "Is It Love" and "Maria"
"Is It Love", your duet with Tony Moran, is not only is one of Freestyle's greatest hits, it is also one of the most cleverly written songs in Freestyle history, with your back-and-forth banter/conversation in song (like a mini musical.)
It is also a song that, if not for you putting it on the Greatest Hits cd, most people might not have heard, beacuse of the limited release of Tony Moran's album Same Sun, Same Sky.
You also gave us "Maria" as a swan song. A song you told me yourself when I interviewed you, that was supposed to be on your debut album as K7. "Maria", as well, is not only is one of TKA’s and Freestyle's greatest hits, it is also one of the most cleverly written songs in Freestyle history, playing off the song made famous in West Side Story, from the hook, right through the ad-libs at the end, it is just brilliant!
When you hit big with "Come Baby Come", and you were on tour, you always gave us more than a K7 show... You always knew your Freestyle fans were with you, and you would always give us a little fix.
Even on the Swing Batta Swing album, you still gave us a little Freestyle flava with "Body Rock".
When Tommy Boy didn’t put our your new K7 material, you persevered and dropped the “Voulez Vous” single, with Ty Bless on Select.
Then after years of hearing fans beg, and watching others cash in on the TKA name, you decided to “get the band back together”!
Tony. Kayel. Angel. Back on stage. Back in the studio. You gave us a whole new album in Forever, with brand new Freestyle songs, along with other TKA music to make us happy.
Of course, as you and I both know, you can’t please everyone.
People still long for the old sound, the old music, and instead of telling them off, or telling them to stop living in the past, you tell them about B-sides and rarities.

You have always been good to your fans, and especially to me, as a member of the Press:
When it came time for me to interview you, you and your camp, were more than accommodating.
You guys went out of your way to make me feel comfortable.
At any show I saw you perform, you always, would go out of your way to say “what’s up”. (How bout when I threw you for a time warp, and sprung the magazine from 8 years ago in your hands when I saw you perform last summer in Havertown, PA).
Kayel, no matter what, you have always been a standup guy and a class act. You my friend are a gentleman and a scholar. No more than that, you are a tutor, and a mentor.
Because you have shown countless others, by just doing what you do, and being who you are, how things should be. Hopefully, many will learn it by watching you!
