Taking a stand

crying to our fellow man
we need to come together and make a stand
we get mistreated in this world by the color of our skin
theres no one to trust not even our friends
sometimes i feel sadden by this way of life
at times I lay across my bed and cry
why are we killing one another
when we should be loving each other
all I hear is
gun shots flying
loved ones crying
once again another man dies
infront of his childs eyes
why do we do these things to ourself
we need to come together as one
we need help
we must guide our future child to a life of love
tell them it's a wrong life to lead
killing our own people wit drugs
trapped in a whirlwind of anger
living deprived
surrounded by so much danger
don't know what the future lies
for our children
kids dying within each passing day from drive-by's
we kill each other over materialistic things
such as street names
colors of various hoods
red, blue and black
if you don't represent the right color you might get shot
trying to survive
living each day with head held high
praying to myself
is this the way we should live
hating each other should be
what our kids should see
knowledge is the power minorities should seek
hold on
try to survive
because knowledge will break you free
from the entrapment of the hood and many things that may bring us down
the path we choose in life will soon be found
just have faith,
believe,
and strive to succeed
knowing this you will achieve
always have a ambition at hand
my people we do need to take a stand

I Applaud To That.amen. About Time Someone Says It. True That.i Came From A Neighborhood Just Like That Growing Up As A Kid. And Lost A Lot Of Good Friends Innocent To Along The Way. So Sad.
