Stevie B. is coming to Pennsylvania

Freestyle fans in the Pennsylvania area get ready as Stevie B prepares to perform for the Q102 fm End of The Summer Luau!!!!! Sunday September 18,2005 live at The Lagoon in Essington Pennsylvania. Also performing Rhianna performing her smash (Pon de Replay) and The Pussycat Dolls performing their hit (Don't Cha). We were there last year and the feedback from the fans was so tremendous, they had to bring Stevie back. Get your tickets early becauase I have to tell you, the place was jam-packed from early in the day till close. Get your tickets early!!!! Come and party with all the hottest people and get up close and personal with Stevie B. Get ready for a great show and you never know who might show up. I know for a fact that a certain beautiful and talented artist that you all know and love will be in the house that night. I'm delivering her myself so if you find me, you'll find her(love you babe). he comes every year for that same show i dont know why he comes he should not because Q102 does not like him they only play his stuff when he is coming to the end of summer concerts so Q102 is just a kiss ass station once steive leaves u wont hear from him again untill next summer i was at the same show a few years ago and it was great but i wont go back since they dont play freestyle anymore on Q 102 they only play it when the end of summer show is near and once its over its back to the bad music from the worst djs in philly puke102

Regarding Stevie B. & Q102

I'd be willing to bet that the reason Stevie B. performs at the Q-102 show is because they book him and pay him to perform there, and he's not about to pass up an opportunity to make some money, and get the exposure of performing in front of a huge audience! I don't blame him. I think ANY performer would do the same thing!! Especially in the freestyle business! Sometimes the money might not be flowing in as much as the artist might hope, even for artists like Stevie B. who have huge talent and a long list of hit records.

I am a performer myself (not in the dance music genre), and I've performed live on several radio stations that only played my group's CD on the night that we were there, and maybe a couple of weeks before or after the appearance. Then, the songs were never played again. Still, we never passed up the chance to go on the station and perform. If someone's willing to pay you money, or give you exposure, you normally don't pass up the opportunity just because they don't play your songs as often as you would like.

As far as Q-102 is concerned, I'm sure the freestyle artists would like to hear the station play more of their music, but the station is going to play whatever brings that the highest ratings, and the most money from advertisers. That's just how the radio business works! I'm not in their listening area so I don't know much about them, but even 103.5 KTU "The Beat of New York", seems to be playing less and less freestyle music each year.

your not missin anything Q102 plays the same song every 10 min . the freestyle is dead in philly only way u hear it is if a car drives by and u know its not on the radio its a cd playin .

Does anyone have any schedule (on stage times) or cover charge info? A friend in the area whom I'm meeting up with called the Lagoon, and they were NO help whatsoever:

So I just called The Lagoon (Scott...I'll PM you the # incase you wanna try to call yourself) and the girl on the phone was NO HELP! :lol: I asked what time doors opened and she said 4pm then I asked what the cover was going to be and her response was "I have no idea". Good work there. So yeah...she said she assumed it will be more than the usual $5 on sundays but had no clue so I don't know if you wanna try to call there later tonight or tomorrow and find out. If you do...let me know. Jamie said she'd be game for going as long as the cover isn't an absurd amount. $10, maybe $15 tops is all we can afford.

Just called....and they said the doors open at 4pm and don't know how much cover is. Maybe you can try calling later tonight or tomorrow and finding out what time the bands are going on (cause I ain't showin up at 4 if no one is coming on till 8) and asking what cover is.

But yeah, see if you can get any more info cause the girl on the phone totally did not want to be bothered by my asking those questions. She was kinda bitchy.

well, i know this much from listening to the radio station.........you have to win tickets to get in (you have to be on the guest list). I believe I heard the doors open at 4:00pm, but I don't know when the acts begin. I can't believe they have absolutely no details on their website!! ugh

I was there Sunday night. I work for the Dj company that has the account at the lagoon. I don't know what the admission price was, but last year if you told the door folks that you were on the q102 guestlist they said "go ahead". If you didn't say that they charged you $10 dollars.

The pussycat dolls went on @ 6:45ish. Rihanna went on @ 7:30ish and stevie b went on @ 9:30ish. All of the artists did pretty well even though it was about 100 degress in there.

Q102 ran everything. I DJ at that club a few times a month but I couldn't get to the "VIP" room to get pictures without a Q102 wrist band. I did manage to "slip" past security for a pic with stevie b.. lol...

Yup -- I got there around 3, my friend finally made it as PCD were going onstage...she never called, of course, we finally found each other during the extended break between Rihanna leaving and Stevie going on :cool

GREAT performances by all, though PCD and Rihanna's were much too short (3 songs each)

HUGE thanks to Tourboss -- true to his word, I was able to get in to the VIP M&G (solo, as my friends had vanished into the crowd at that point -- DID find them in time for all three of us to go into the DVD sale/signing, though! )

A good night on the autograph front -- while the Dolls didn't stop, THEIR manager remembered me from Cleveland, and passed along the M&G pics I had from that night, and got them signed for me; Rihanna was the only one I never got...

The "special guest" hinted at, for those not there, was Evelyn (even MORE beautiful in person!) and I was also able to get a pic with her

Dammit, I want to wind the clock BACK about 27 hours! haha

Still about 10 shots left on my camera -- the next show I'm going to isn't until the 27th, so I'd guess my pics will be up on the 29th.....

Hey Scott,
Glad you had a great time and I'm always true to my word. Without fans like you, none of us would have a job. You are a great fan and it was nice meeting you! Also thanks for the great pics, Stevie really appreciated them. Also, Evelyn(from The Covergirls) said she she thought you were awesome driving five hours to come see the show. Keep us up to date whenever your are going to come to any Stevie B or Covergirls show.
And to anyone reading this, give BIG PROPS to Scott because he's DA MAN!!
Can't wait to see the pictures!!
