Well peep's this weekend after coming back from Naya's Birthday party(which was awesome) I heard some "Spanish Freestyle" for the 1st time. I have heard Angelina's song's which are spanish and english which are good! Now that I think about it awhile back a young artist by the name of Lil Johanna did some spanish freestyle too. I guess it's becoming more main stream? Or this is a new market for the latin countries as well? I think it's cool and I'm curious where this is going?? Anyway's what are your thoughts my peep's or any info on this?? Well as always keep it real and much nub!!!!😉
 
I think it's a nice trend as long as they have an english version too. Many of the fans are not off Spaniish origin, so you don't want to alienate them. I'm not Spanish BUT understand quite a bit of it, so I really like the Spainsh versions. They add variety to the songs. My favorite Spanish versions of freestyle songs are:

kool thanks anthony yeah i agree if theres an english version then all the power i too am not spanish but understand most of it cuz im portuguese and the 2 languages are similar i know its not freestyle bu alexia has a spanish version of number one and in a way i like it better than the original but she does say i wanna be ur number one in english 🙂

its not alexis its alexia and the song is called number one and its on her cd called fan club which has her other hits like me and you and the summer is crazy and the beat of the nite, its probably from about 98 and its more of a euro type dance but its really good...just correcting u cuz u mite not be able to find it if u go around looking for alexis 🙂

Freestylegod, I invite you to listen to all the Spanish songs
on my label I have like 67 new songs that are Spanish freestyle,
The Freestyle that I do is truly different in the lyrics, stereotyping
Freestyle about she left me, he left me, Oh Girl ... its not my main thing in my lyric's, if you do understand completely Spanish you will understand that all my lyric's are not the same lines, its not all about love, its also about things that people goes trough in life,

between mother and father, son, the person you love not necessary has to be a girlfriend or boyfriend or lover.. its about everything. In the majority of my songs I make it without putting Boy or Girl because if a female artist wants to sing the song she can do so, and if a male singer wants to sing the song too he can do so so I try
to make it when it can be for a girl or a guy ... if a female is going trough things with her man she can sing him the song or if a male is going trough the same thing well he can do the same...so I try keeping my lyrics universal..it works good for both.

I am marketing this songs in a different way...
I have just put together 14 different singles new..and some of them includes house versions. Now you have to understand also that not all songs are meant to written in both languages, I have try in some of them but when I do it, it looses the touch because some Spanish songs the wording wont sound good when you translate them because of the melody and the same thing happens in English songs when you translate them in Spanish sounds ugly terrible not in all of them but the majority so I rather not touch it in some of them...

But Some of the songs yes you can get away with it, but unfortunately some
don't.
I wrote a song for my step sister who died in a car accident the name of the songs is "PORQUE LA VIDA ES ASI", Slamming song, I gave it to FERNANDA (Cheree) to sing it she did a beautiful job on it, she put the feelings the way I wanted to come out in the song. That song even people who lost any of the family member or friends or at the world trade center or in any type of accident or sickness trust me when if they listen to it they will cry, that songs is about talking to God and telling him how you feel and why things happends in life.. I invite you to listen to it trust me when I wrote the song and I sang it to my mother she started to cry. even me when I was writing it.. I know that I couldn't sing that song because I was not ready to sing it because of my pain...every time when I hear that song my hairs stands and I hold myself not to cry...

Fernanda if you read this, thank you so much for working with me on that special song because you put and recorded my melody, my feelings in to a song that will be recorded for life.. God Bless you..

There's many songs out that was in Latin Freestyle.....Nayobe, FFWD, Nice and Wild, India, Sweet Sensation were some of those freestyle Artists who did a Spanish version on their famous songs. They are the pioneers yet it wasn't a very good thing back then....that now it has pick up I will say from 92 on. Bernardo made noise with "Me Avandonastes" and "Quiereme". Latin Nation did noise in 96' with "Nunca" by the name of Lanation on Stylin Free Records made it into Bilingual and had a great hit. There's many people who do it...and I know that Alex of love doing it for the wording more expressive. Alex's did 3 songs that was very successful in Spanish and have them in English which is also a good thing as long as you know how to treat the song/Lyrics the same way you treated the original. "No Puedo Mas", and "Eres Mi Vida" are the other 2 hits. Many peeps have heard Latin Nation's upcoming album and know the latin taste he puts in it....if you heard it let Alex and me know what you think, Anthony, Korupt, & Rhoq....Freddy Lopez I love the song "Basta Ya" I saw a video of a show where you performed it it was really nice and my 2 all time fave's from you is "No puedo Vivir Sin ti" and "No Aguanto Mas". I'm so 😱 LOL...how could I forget Alex! I absolutely LOVE Nunca (which I dont think about when thinking up Spanish songs since it's bi-lingual). Anyway, Nunca is my favorite of his. I also like No Puedo Mas and also Tu Eres Mi Vida very much as well. Alex already knows this though! 😉

Hey Guy's thanks for all the cool info!!! I was just curious and yes song's in other languages sometimes are better than in english. I have a cool pop rock song in japanese and it rock's even though I don't know what's being said. Well do you guys(The artist's) Plan on making appearances in like Puerto Rico or other palces or even spanish channel's to spread freestyle to the noon english speaking latin community? You know like give them an alternative to salsa, merengue, ect, ect,? Well a big shout out to all the really cool freestyle artist's I met a t Naya's party keep up the good work!!! Keep it real and much nub!!!😉
 
Freestylegod, I guess you miss alot of the stuff we do since alot of people are focus in other labels or artists and don't know what we do, let me update you, We have also recorded a cormecial in channel 47 promoting us too it air few times.But remember I am not promoting the word FREESTYLE becuase in the spanish market its hard to use an english name, so that's why I came up with ESTILO LIBRE, If you see channel 47 telemundo, maybe you was waiting to hear Freestyle.. but we don't market ourself with that name in the spanish market but only with ESTILO LIBRE, You problaly heard the name alot of times but didn't notice that it was actually freestyle music that they where talking about.lol
I will use the name freestyle in the english market but not in the spanish...just remember this, ESTILO LIBRE TU NUEVO GENERO MUSICAL!!

Trust me when I tell you that... we are going to cover even all the small little things too..its just a matter of time...becuase I want all the artist's that are still sign with me, to prepared themself before anything, they are working in putting a show together and their clothing style, you will not see E.L.I.RECORDS artist performing with a key chain, bepper or cell hanging in their pants...

Once everything is ready we are going to even be in your coffe cup...lol

Thank's again Freddy Lopez for the info!! This is info I was not aware of and where I live (Connecticut) Most peep's I know who are into freestyle do not know of Estilo Libre. It's really good to know this!! It's good to know Freestyle is reaching out further than before!!! My curiosity helped to inform me and others thanks again!!! Maybe our Euro freestylers can do freestyle in their languages and further spread freestyle!!!! Keep it real my peep's and much nub!!!!!😉

I agree 100%. I think if the artist can speak spanish, and the words translate ok, that every single should have a spanish version. Freestyle has been big among hispanics, yet most singles don't have a version in spanish. When I go the clubs in town, the DJ can play some latin house, and everyone will come onto the floor. It's not because they know the song, it's because they relate to it, remember a certain tune, or connect with the lyrics in spanish. Something that I think has been overlooked. Which brings me to the next comment...

The idea of pushing freestyle towards spanish speaking channels and radio stations would be a big help. If you listen to radio stations in spanish, many of them play dance music. You don't hear freestyle on these radio stations, but they haven't even had the chance to consider it if they haven't heard it (or if none has been created). I think that is a big untapped market. I have like 5 TV stations in spanish where I live here in Sacramento, and they OFTEN have music/music features on those TV stations.
