What up CF?! I'm a new member and this is my first post. First I want to say that this community is great and brings back a lot of memories!!

I'm from Dallas and back in the mid 90's I was one of the several involved in the freestyle scene. I use to back up dance for several artist including Melanie a.k.a Tora (Seductive Love and Seductive Love '03) and for Tina a.k.a Anisa Lano (Wanna B Your Love, U & I, With Me).

In addition to dancing, I was also an on-air personality at a local freestyle station here called Power 107.

Anyway...if anyone wants any "Where are they now?" information about the many freestyle talent out of Texas such as:

Leo Deleon
Jaime (Let's Touch Bass, Summerheat)
Tora
Anisa Lano
ATOP
Joe Angel (Do you wanna do me)
Scarlett (Oh It Feels So Good)
Ceasar (Just As Friends)
Bigg 'E' Escobar (Feel The Rhythm)
and many more, just let me know. I've got all the scoop.

Although I don't listen to freestyle anymore, it's great to see everyone coming together to discuss good music.

What's up bro? I too and from Dallas and would like to get all the inside scoop on all of these awesome artists. Hey, how come Marcos B. is not on your list? I was just on the phone with him last week and I might have to report this to him. Just kidding!

Welcome to CF. By the way, are you still w/107? Aren't they playing REGGANOYING songs 24/7 nowadays? Just wondering.

Peace!

I ran into Joe Angel about two years ago at a bar/restaurant in Dallas called Ninfas. He is totally out of the freestyle scene and doing his own thing.

Yeah, Norby dropped the whole Hotlick label and I think started a new label "Ghetto House" featuring local rap artists. Tight Flight was a DJ Felony/Riki Rik label (I actually worked closesly with Riki's brother Stevie D.).

Last I heard about Loose Fingaz...let's see, I was club hopping in the Deep Ellum district of Dallas when he called me on my cell phone to tell me he had found God. I thought he was out of the music scene but I guess not.

OMG...quick update! Tora works at a shoe store at the mall!

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!
Actually, the whole 'Tora works at a shoe store' is kinda old news. She probably doesn't even work there anymore as this was about a year ago that I heard/seen this.

Someone asked me about Anisa Lano. Last I heard, she was working with a local producer here in Dallas by the name of Ambrose (P.F.L.). She did a couple of new songs on his compilation CD back in 2003, but brought little heat. I love Tina (Anisa) to death. I was her original back up dancer, and I have to say was the best artist who actually had any vocal talent off the Hotlick label. I feel as though Tora (Seductive Love) stole a lot of her thunder though just because Tora was a slim, long haired beautiful dime piece who threw out condoms during her show and LIVED for the spotlight. Anisa on the other hand was a more reserved, shy girl with an hour glass figure. It's like the whole Britney/Christina rivalry. I mean, we all know Christina can SING better but Britney gets all the shine.

FYI...Did you guys know that Tora was only 16 when she recorded Seductive Love?

Oh...I have some new gossip:

What Dallas freestyle artist has come out of the closet?

I feel both can sing just as good. I happen to like Anisa's personality alot more though.

Melanie's parents were cool. Well, at least her mom was...i don't remember ever meeting her dad. From what I hear she has two kids now, I believe....

Tina does have a great personality but what bothered me about her was that she was so shy. I always wanted her to be more outspoken both on/off stage but she def had a hard time doing so...I still believe she has the vocal talent to make it though. Part of the whole breakup with the group (by group I mean Anisa and dancers) was her manager. Her manager (who was a former striper) was booking a lot of shows but said they were all "promotional" when in actuallity, they were paid gigs which the manager was just pocketing.

I also wanted to give everyone an update on Selina. I don't remember what her stage name was, but she was the one that sang that song "Oooh, it feels so good...Oooh it feels so good"...anyway, i'm always running into honey at the club and she is totally out of the freestyle scene as well. FYI...did you know she use to dance at a club called Dallas Gentlemans???? She's also a lesbian, now...or I shouldn't say that. Maybe she likes both, who knows. Anywho...she is actually one of the few that I run into on a regular basis.

and last but not least...What freestyle singer (female) was kicked out of a bar because she didn't have any money to buy any drinks???
