i finally got to meet safire this sunday at blis and it was a pleasure........ my daughter sings her songs everytime i play them and she is only 6 but she knows talent when she hears it(its the coolest thing to see her singing)..i wish safire the best with anything she does no matter what kind of music she does it will be off the hook.......

Oh I think it's sad :realsad that she's retiring...but thank you for bringing these memorable hits you've had. Safire, you will always be remembered as a freestyle legend and your jams will not be forgotten. You are one of my fave female freestyle artists;I love all ur songs from "Don't Break My Heart" to "Can you stand the Rain" and some of ur non-commercial releases.I won't stop playing ur songs cuz they will never fade out.Good luck in the future and God bless you and your family. :safire

It was just last month that I got to see one of the best in freestyle music and true freestyle legend (SA-FIRE) perform at Club Blis for the first time. I would next see her at the same club one month later and would sadly hear her announce her retirement from freestyle music.

Her music is tops in the freestyle industry. Songs like "Let me be the one" , "Dont break my heart", "Boy I've been told" and slow song "Thinking of you" (to name a few) will never die or grow old to me and these songs will live on and continue to be as great to me now and in the years to come as they were the first time I heard each of them.

By the way: All her album covers were as great as her music.

I have all her freestyle music on vinyl, both released and unreleased and proud of it. When "Made up my mind" was released on vinyl, I bought 10 copies and still have them all to this day. Just trying to give some support over here. 🙂

In closing, one of her songs is titled "Gonna Make It" and this girl made it BIG TIME!!! One freestyle hit after another.

All my best wishes to SA-FIRE in her future endeavors.

SA-FIRE: YOU ARE THE BEST. 😉

Sometimes, it takes but one flower to bloom an entire garden. You have inspired so many careers to begin, your legacy is eternal. Your passion in the music industry keeps the stars shining. Even though you have decided to set your sun into the sea, a new day will always come. Your voice is an addiction to all and will be heard again. Much Love to you and your family Wilma, you will truly be missed.

Love always,
Kerry, aka TAZXTR

As long as SAFIRE dosen't completely stop singing, i'm okay with whichever direction she takes with her music.

Safire is such a wonderful, classy artist & person. I suggest everyone catches her as she embarks on her farewell freestyle tour.

Much luck and love always SAFIRE from the many fans you have touched around the world with your music -

Wow...

Just a few months ago I had Safire on my celebrity hotline for almost an hour for a live "Words and Music" interview segment. She has to be credited with the recent resurgence on Freestyle with her duet with Cynthia. I know that there was much excitement here about that track and her new album.

Perhaps some major label bigwig should do what it takes to sign Safire and release the album to the masses. I know Felix has just about killed himself in order to make the waves, but Globestar is not a large operation.

Without major support, I fear that we'll hear more tales of the Safire's and Willie Valentin's of the world "taking a break"-which is what I hope that they are doing.

Safire, thanks for the conversations...hopefully, we'll connect again and speak your mind, as always!

Best of luck,
Harv Roman

*God Bless 2 *Safire!! and the Best of the Best WILL continue for her in her Great Future.

Safire/Freestyle 4 Always.

Muahz 😉

:safire You Will Never Be Forgotten!

Nice to see and read all these posts. I dont want to sound like an ass, but I expected more to post. Although she is going to pursue other music, this is a goodbye and thank you thread to a person who has given so much time, love & money to Freestyle. I was really hoping to see more, sorry, this is only my opinion.
To those who posted, thank you.
For those who are too busy, all it takes is a couple of minutes to say thanx.
Show some luv!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU

YOU GUYS ARE SO SWEET. I AM DEEPLY TOUCHED BY YOUR KIND WORDS.This is so very hard for me...I only wish I could have done more. But, in retropect I gave it all I had. Hey, It's been 17 years of pure bliss. What more can a girl ask for. I want to thank all of the fans that have been there for me over the years. It was you that kept the fire burning in my soul. It was your eye's that held a spark show after show, and now.........Well , it's time to say goodbye. Some will say I over stayed my welcome. Others will simply say "she jumped ship". In the end I feel blessed and lucky to have great fans that really care....I love you.
once again thank you for all your kind words. And remember this is not the end, but only the begining of something wonderful. Peace ,love and happiness, Safire

Safire has been nothing short of a pioneer in Freestyle Music. Since 86, when "Don"t Break My Heart" originally dropped, she has displayed talent, class, positive energy, beauty, and so much more that can not be described. Having met her twice in the last 2 years and interviewing her on my radio show, I can see why she has been such a constant in Freestyle for the past 16 years. Her songs to this day get heavy requests and will for years to come. I, like many of you, was in shock when she told me of her retirement on May 22nd in San Jose, CA. But there comes a time when we all must step aside, She has a family now and there are higher priorities to be addressed. Safire will always have my support in her endeavors and I am sure that all the fans feel the same. Thank you Safire for the memories, music, and most of all for being real.
