forget the stars in my eyes
for they are now
dust particles
lost to the winds
that raged tempestuously
when the Earth
made it's last
journey around the Sun
forgive my tears
for they are now
frozen drops of
soul crystals
lying heavily
upon my lashes
forget the voices
in the wind
that led you astray
beckoning and tempting
for they never told us
there would be
so much pain
forgive my sighs
for they are now
cries of anguish
in the night
that will never be
songs of fairies
forget the crown i wear
for it is now
the knife pressing down
into my heart
proving that
i am no princess
worthy of a palace
in your universe
forgive my love
for it is the only thing
i have held onto
a priceless piece of myself
that was too selfish
to see
how much the Sun
was without
it's Earth
forget me
for i will never be
the Earth
you love so faithfully

forgive me for the sacrifice
i will make
for the Sun to shine
once again
