Remember Club (HEARTHROBS) aka 'FUN HOUSE'

My cousin told me this club in the 80's was hot .He even said, that the singer 'NOEL' was discovered there. He use to bust tables at that dance club. And that Noel was back then a gang member ,they were called The ballbusters they hanged at the club too ,and had dance battles with other dancer to show who is best ,it was called The UP ROCK. I guess that time the clubs were the shitttt.😎 The spot was West 20's in lower manhattan ,nyc. P.S. The DJ was Little Lou Vega ,also hangin was Tony Moran -(Latin Rascles),Safire,Albert Caberra -(Latin Rascles),Andy(Panda).K-7,(kayal-TKA).

Heartthrobs was one of the best clubs back then. I loved it! they really showcase many up and coming stars. Little louie vega was a DJ there. as a matter of fact i went to one of his birthday partys there. safire, tina b, joyce syms, india, noel and several others performed that night. i saw many, many shows. As you waited in line to get in, you could feel the walls vibrating from all the great music.

if i could only bring back time..............

Yea, I too use to hang there. I baelry got in but it was off the meters. It used to be called The Funhouse. And the D.J back then was JELLYBEAN. Madonna also hung out there. Studio 54, The Devil's Nest, Lamor East, Emerald City, 1018, La marige, these club's were the shit.

The Funhouse was the doody! I still have matchbooks and a very worn out t-shirt from the Club (White with balck clown face) The DJ booth where Jellybean spun was a Huge clown face & 2 dance stages and the main Dance Floor. The rear Dance floor was rocked by rocksteady & Dynamic breakers. Then Zulu & Ballbusters starting coming in and there became beef. The guido click would do a kick dance and have thier legs wrapped up in laces up to thier knees. The gear besides Lees, Addidas, Nylon shirts & Nylon Bvd's was heuvo pants and belts. Then the famous Name Belts which were customizable. When you walked in (of course it was more difficult 'cause of the red stars and Gremlins) I always managed to walk into the mirrored walls..There was a Pizzeria and arcade behind the rocksteady floor and Bumper cars to chill in. Then there was an upstairs area with booths that had a phone (just intercom only) to call the other booths next to you. The system was banging as well as the music of that era. There'll never be another club like that again!
