Question about TKA!

I have been a big fan of TKA for many years, as so has the entire crew of Rhythm Radio- "Your Dance Music Paradise"! However, I must admit that I'm somewhat confused about who the members of TKA were, back in the day when they were having hit and hit. I always thought that there were 3 guys in TKA. However, here on ClubFreestyle, I've seen people mention at least 5 guys who were supposedly original members of TKA. I've seen the names K7, Angel, Tony, Aby, and even somebody who called themself the Swing Kid. In fact, I've even seen performances advertised featuring many of these people. So could someone please let tell me how many guys were originally in the group, and what their names were? Thanks!

I think that the original members from back in the day were only 3 members (Kayel being the main one, I think he was the lead singer of the group); I forgot the other two guys' names, but I know that one of them was at the Copa the night of 11/23 and I remember him going his separate ways to be in an R&B band that didn't last that long. This R&B band that he was involved in wrote a song called "Sugar Honey Ice Tea" (put it in abbreviation and you'll see what you get lol). It wasn't too long before the group disbanded.

K7's real name is Kayel.

Toward like the early 1990s, TKA I think went their separate ways, and K7 and the Swing Kids evolved into a new latin hip hop group. By the time this group came out, I was just starting my Freshman Year in high school. There are more members in K7 and the Swing Kids than there were in the original TKA.

You got the names right, but I think that members came and went, people got replaced, as the time went by, dealing with differences, etc etc.

There is a lot of history as far as TKA is concerned. But I'm just tell you what I know from when I was growing up, from seeing them on TV shows like Second Generation, and other shows from back in the day that promoted Freestyle music.

I think that the best person to ask on here would be Kayel, who posts under k7tka.

I believe the original A was for Aby, who was replaced by an Angel.

K7 also uses the name k7ktu here...he'd definately be the best source.

TKA has been Tony, Kayel (K7), and Aby...and it has also been Tony. Kayel, and Angel. In the very early beginnings of TKA, India also sang with the group. When TKA broke up, Kayel went on to form K7, who had a hit with Come Baby Come, as well as other songs. Maybe K7 himself can comment on this.

Yeah I was saying the same thing, I may have some insight on the group from what I've seen while growing up, but only K7 would be the person to shed some light on this topic, that's if he wants to.

He's been down this road too many times before. If I were a mod, I would suggest doing a "search" for the anwer, but im not.

The Original members were Tony, Kayel & Aby.
On the first album Aby was the lead singer with hits such as "come get my love", "one way love", "X-ray vision, "Scars of love".......
After a few years Aby left and Angel took his place.
K7 is TKA now. So it's K7/TKA along with the swing kids

india left during the recording of the scars of love album. right before scars of love came out as a single..
aby was some time later right before x ray vision became single
angel came into the group then ....
thanks for the help ayna and you too lachicabella. the sometime misinformation in advertising with former member pictures is due to club promoters using old pictures some we correct others run around falsely giving you pictures of the old tka .. trust me its always happened this way even when angel was there he would see pictures of aby no matter how many pictures we gave them to use .they used what they want now a days we chase them with legal notice of false advertising .

I feel the same way TKA always takes me back to days best days of my life when everything was so simple

I love TKa. No group comes close to touching them. I got the chance to see K7 & the swing kids on 11/23 at copa. They riped it. It was very kool to see when angel came up and sang louder than love with Kayel. They definetely need to come back and take what belongs to them.
