I find it kind of interesting how nowadays, no old school freestyle artist wants to even touch freestyle, yet Britney Spears and Madonna have each and together come out with songs during the last couple years that could be considered freestyle ,definitely moreso than anything on Coro's upcoming album (I heard the samples on his website-not even one song is freestyle), at least as much and probably more than TKA's last album, and definitely moreso than Judy Torres' last couple or upcoming songs. Why must "freestyle" artists go out of their way to "update" their music and still not be able to sell as much of it as they did of their freestyle hits while Madonna and Britney Spears can drop freestyle beats in their songs and outsell the whole universe? Why is freestyle not good enough for TKA and Coro but good enough for Madonna and Britney Spears? Just some food for thought. I've never seen anything before like this, where the fans want one thing so badly yet the artists only want to give the fans what they specifically don't want. The fact of the matter is that a freestyle fan has a better chance of hearing actual freestyle music on a pop artist's album than they do on a "freestyle legend's" album.

well, your both rite. I woulnt say that stuff is freestyle, but I have heard sonething damn close, like a knock off of a freestyle song from madonna. but they do lean more towards dance lately. Lets not forget though Madonnas been around the freestyle era and some of her 1st stuff was damn close too.

pete, how in the world can you say something like that? in no way does it sound freestyle!!! your smoking some goo sh!t if you think that!

ITS DANCE!!!!!!!

you know what? to me, i hear TRANCE, HOUSE, TECHNO,TRIBAL in it.

i can go on forever but THERE ARE NO FREESTYL ELEMENTS!!!!!

Now, now....."Music" is not Freestyle, House, Trance, Tribal, nor anything close to it! The remixes on the single ARE with the exception of Freestyle.

"Music" is very "Trippy", and this is the shit (or was) that's big right now in Europe....and possesses several elements that are incorporated in the song itself. The whole album is hot, and I think she strayed away from the typical dance format she used to follow.....

However, I've always been a fan of her music and her i-don't-give-a-phuck-attitude....which is why she is still here today.....but not as strong, musically, as she once was.

Althought a product of the 80's and 90's, she FLEW right over the Freestyle era........

Yo...

I hear ghosts of freestyle past in a LOT of songs from POP artists.

Is there ANYTHING that is not freestyle about "Una Noche" by 98 Degrees?

There's even a li'l spanish guitar/sultry female vocal interlude.

If we define freestyle in the same limited, close-minded manner as some people in the board tend to do, freestyle will NEVER GET ANYWHERE because it will never expand (and grow).

I feel "Music" & "Toxic" are both definitely not freestyle.... although they can be considered mildly uptempo "freestylish".... anyway Brittney's "Toxic" is probably my favorite song out right now!!!!! :listen

As for Madonna...

"Borderline" and "Who's That Girl" were freestyle.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

YOURE CRACKIN ME UP!!!

AS IF MADONNA WOULD EVER BE CONSIDERED "FREESTYLE"

MADONNA IS MADONNA!

SHE IS IN A CATAGORY ALL BY HERSELF.

Again, her stuff was damn close................................but no cigar. alot the shit that came out in the 80's has close simmularitys, but that dont make it freestyle. freestyle is freestyle. As for Will To Power , I only know dreamin , so im not sure, but the song Dreaming was Freestyle.

I have to agree with you FREESTYLHEAD,POP artists do use alot of FREETYLE BEATS in their music.Artists like BRITNEY SPEARS, MADONNA, JENNIFER LOPEZ, N'SYNC, BACKSTREET BOYS, LUMIDEE, KELLY ROWLAND, HILARY DUFF, KYLIE MINOGUE, ETC..ALL have used FREESTYLE BEATS,music always comes back but in a different and close form.Theres only so much that you can do with dance music, the beats always come back.
FOR MADONNA, she's a business whore, she knows what FREESTYLE is-SHE BITES OFF everyone, which is why she still is around. She was there when FREESTYLE was POPULAR-brown nosing with everyone, with her no talent ass!

You cant say that theye "freestyle beats" because theyr really not.

im sure theyre not even using the same musical equiptment that the freestyle artists used.

LMFAO!!! Damn Frankie!! Your Fukn Ruthless Homy!! Shes cool , but I still wouldnt calll those beats freestyle. I mean I know what your saying, but Britny??? I need to hear what you guys are talking about! lol

I have and when their played on the radio people tell me it sounds like FREESTYLE, I agree-more of a POP FREESTYLE sound and not all FREESTYLE beats-but some,This issue can go on on forever, but I stand by my statements 100%.Remember statemens by STEVIE B, SAFIRE, and other artists agree alot of the POP music done today,if they were done in the 80's would be considered FREESTYLE and I agree.
