What? You thought we just gave you "Voices in Your Head" in 1989, "C'mon & Dance With Me" in 1990, "I'm Serious" in 1992, "All Around the Sound" in 1996 and the seasonal "It's Another Holiday" and walked away?

No way! Anyway, we'll be marching back into the studio this year and plan to release our first full-length CD. We already have five MP3.com CD releases at:

http://www.mp3.com/parisbyair

But this will be our first, independent redbook quality CD pressed. Yes, we will get the songs you know in there, but what about the ones you don't? We have recorded more than 50 tracks in quite a few different styles. If anyone can spare the time to check out some Paris By Air that you've never heard before, please go to:

http://www.mp3.com/parisbyair

Let us know which tracks you would like on the new CD. Your opinion will not only shape the CD but we've been known to be generous in terms of getting folks thanked in the liner notes. So, help us make a great CD. We'll be adding a new track or two from our upcoming studio sessions, but we need to know what from the past is worth keeping!

Thanks!
Rick

Thanks Vet! We're hoping to get some feedback from the ClubFreetsyle community. We just put up all six of our All Around the Sound remixes on our MP3.com page, we'll be using one of those.

So, check out as much as you can -- we got plenty of tunes set as free streams and downloads -- and let us know what you want on our First Flight CD!

Yeah!!!! I love Paris by Air!! I loved "Cmon and dance with me", "Voices in my head" the best. How come a full-length was never done before, Rick? DO you guys still work with Lewis Martinee?
I hope your new tracks will be Freestyle. Any member change we should know about? I will definitely get the CD when it is released. Please keep us informed!

Yes, we still work with Martinee. I was in the studio with Lewis a couple of times last year, though we were writing and recording material for other groups. Paris By Air as a whole hasn't been in the studio for two years now. But I do plan on getting us back in there to add some new tracks to the full-length.

As to why we never put out the full-length, it's a long story but let me try to give you the shorter version. Sony (Columbia) paid us the advance on the full-length after the Billboard Dance chart success of Voices (#14) and C'mon & Dance With Me (#35).

That was perfect since we were studio junkies. We have 70 free downloads at http://www.parisbyair.com because we really have spent the past 15 years writing and recording as time would allow. But then the recession came. Iraq happened. Sony cut its roster dramatically (in just a matter of weeks three Miami acts -- Will to Power, rockers Nuclear Valdez and Paris By Air -- were all cut).

However, because they had paid the advance (another long story, but our management company never let a single dime of that trickle down to us) we couldn't release the dozen tracks selected for the CD. Haydee left the band. Teri came in a few weeks later in 1992. Our management company put out a new song "I'm Serious" which did about as well as an indie-put out track would do. Not very well, in our case.

When Lewis parted ways with Pantera, we followed suit. We remain good friends. We (Willie, Lewis and I) each have 8 year old boys so we get together every so often. But, since we had a lot of tracks tied to the old Sony deal, it took us some time to get up to speed with new material. After "All Around the Sound" proved popular in Europe, we had a few nibbles, but nothing materialized. So, we will be releasing it ourselves, later this summer, with new material.

Will it be freestyle? I hope at least one of the new tracks will have some great old-school freestyle flavor. It put us on the map and while we have recorded in a wide range of genres, most will associate us with the freestyle movement -- and we are proud of that and won't let it die.

We have five different MP3.com CDs that we have put out over the past two years. You might like them. Yes, you can pick them up at:

http://www.parisbyair.com

And, yes, I'll put in a link to CF!!! But if you are looking for better than MP3 quality tracks, we'll have the real deal coming out this summer!
