I originally wrote out this whole long thing for everyone to read regarding KTU and how things are programmed and politics and so forth, but frankly, I don't feel the need to explain myself to anyone anymore. I've been told by old school artists and DJ's alike to be wary of these message boards, because people will try to bring you down and tell you they know better than you. I ignored their advice at first, but now I'm beginning to see that they were onto something. Nobody is happy, everyone has something to say, usually something negative, which is exactly why things are the way they are. I have gotten so much negative vibes from some people its amazing. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of positive too, but it's the negative that tends to stick and leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I'll never stop doing what I'm doing at KTU because first and foremost I do this for MYSELF as a freestyle fan. Anyone who doesn't like the way I do things or the way KTU sounds, then don't listen. I don't compete with other DJ's or other stations, so it makes no difference to me. I have the largest freestyle audience in radio, I don't brag about it and I don't have anything to say about it. I have nothing to prove to anyone. It's my turn to be negative now, after smiling in the face of everyone that has something negative to say to me.

Nicely said James. I tend to stay away from threads that are negative cuz really...I'm in New Orleans so who am I to complain? The only complaint I have about KTU is that they no longer stream on the web! 🙁 I miss out on your show every week for this reason alone which is why I praise 106.7jamz so much. They do a freestyle show on sunday nights also...they stream on the web... :shrug: not much else I can say about it all.

Good luck to you always! Maybe one day my ass will be in NY on a Sunday night so that I can enjoy your show. I've heard nothing but good about it! 😉
 
yup james...... there's always been alot of negativity towards KTU round here..... so that's why it's only positive stuff from me...... constuctivity to improve things...... KTU has been my station since the late 70's and it will always be...... 🙂

James, I don't think you need to explain yourself to anyone sweetie. you've been a member here for a while, and now you work at the station, we know(at least I do) that you are real.😉
 
Remember being in an autorative position...you will see negative comments.
It's the ones who are strongest and the best that prevail through both good
and bad. The ones that do not run away form a challage.
And James...we know your one of the best and strongest or you would
have never gottent this far in a tuff industry.

message boards are merely a way of posting thoughts and having a mass
amount of people review your thoughts. In face to face outings you
will still find negativity along with positive vibes.. You don't
hear anyone telling you to stay home because of this right?

So let's not confuse a message board for something else.. it is
simply a way to post your thoughts.
 
People need to understand that *opinions* are solely just that, opinions.

Stop getting so overworked about what you read on these boards. Don't take everything so seriously and don't take it to heart.

I don't regret posting anything that some of you may see as offensive, sorry. I'm putting it out there from my point of view.

If everyone had the same opinion on everything it would be one boring topic.

James Anthony, KTU is KTU. It's always going to be around, no matter what I or anyone says. Don't feel threatened by what you read.

I'm definitely not going to kiss any ass, but that's just how it is.

Take what I say, or anyone else for that matter, as CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM and apply it. If you can't do anything about it, take it to the next guy above you.

And to be honest, KTU and Z100 are very similar, just subtract all the Rock & Roll and what do you have, another KTU.

As a matter of fact, I don't care about the Freestyle, what I do care about are the Veronica's, Reina's, Kim Englishs', Ultra Nate's, Deborah Cox's, Amber's, etc.

Play something that I won't hear on Hot 97, 95.5, Z100, or 107.5.

THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF KTU.
 
James, if I said something that may have offended you, I must apoligize. But I for one have always supported you and your efforts. You and I have known each other for almost 5 years so you can say we go back a long time. You know I have a tendency to speak first and think later!

As for KTU, keep doing your mixes and dont let the boards bring you down. CLUB FREESTYLE has always been in support of KTU and the artists. It's just a select bunch that love to criticize KTU and the artists. They will stop at nothing to bring everyone down with them. That's the way they are. That's why many negative people have created thier own sites either because they are jealous of CF or they just feel they need a platform to stand on and bitch to a bunch of morons.

As for freestyle, KTU plays 10 times more than LATINOMIX. Don't get me wrong, I listen to LATINOMIX when I can but KTU is the station I choose to listen to all day and night.
 
hey james....you and i dont know eachother but lemme tell ya bro, you know as well, no matter what you do, how much you do it or how great your efforts are there will always be detractors...no matter what. notice i did not relate this to music cuz it happens in just about everyones everyday life. in your jobs, relationships, whatever...jealousy, admiration, passiveness, among others...all fuel these fires. you can only work to make yourself happy, period. you have to live with yourself and if you are happy with your work or whathaveyou, then thats all that matters in the long run. when you know you are doing the job and peeps out there try to bring you down the only way to look at it as a major ass compliment. if you or anyone else were not in a position to make a difference in some way then you would not be under such scrutiny or prone to such attacks as you speak of or in general. just keep doing what you are doing and make yourself happy and in turn you will reach the peeps you probably want to reach and will rile up those that you just should ignore.

James don't take this personal babe, this is towards KTU in general not agains't you as a person sweetie. As for the old school peeps saying that to you, you were a member of this board before you went to work at KTU, don't let thier opinions fog your own. These are probably the same artists that alot of these peeps hold on a pedastal, and don't even know that they are being thought of as this? (meaning, that fans hold alot of these "old School" artists on such high regards, yet these same artists are telling you to keep away from this site or any other site for that matter. You have always spoke your own mind, so don't let what they think be your thought. see ya around😉 muah.

People will always talk bad about different things. The peeps who know you, know how hard you work at what you do, and how much you love doing it.

As for negativity towards ktu, my only complaint with them is adding new freestyle to the playlist.

Other new dance songs get added, and they play ads that say "the station where freestyle lives", so can't they throw us freestyle fans a bone and add 1 or 2 new freestyle songs to the rotation?
 
James I hope this doesn't include me from what we last spoke of.After all KTU is the only major station playing the music I love here in NYC.Occasionally I and others may get irritated but as a whole the people I hang out with generally have a positive attitude towards KTU. You just keep spinnin that Freestyle!!
