need help please

I Have Had My Records Stashed For About 5 Years Now. The Thing Is I Just Started To Work On A Mix And The Records Sound Old As Hell Like Skiiiiiiiiiii And All That Crackling And Popping. They Look New Though And Have No Scratches. What Could This Be And How Can I Fix It?
