try this!

Microphone: (AKG 414 it's pretty affordable right about now @ about $700.00)..if you have a nice budget get a Neuman U87

you'll need a good Mic-pre:try an (Avalon VT-737sp @ around $2,000.00)

Digital workstations/recorders: (Digidesign Pro-Tools)

and may i recommend a Power Mac G4 to run your system.

good luck!!

Edwin, wazzup!

Cool thanks for the info...but are there microphones that are more affordable that i would be able to use in the studio...I still would like great quality tho...lemme know...
Peace bro

Yeah you definitely need a decent mic and a great preamp... If your looking for anything under $6-500.00 here's a few decent mics... Rode NTK, NT2, Audio Technica 4050, AKG Solidtube, C4000....

I personally like the Rode Classic (which is a tube mic) and Neumann mics (U67, U87) The thing about microphones everybody has different opinions on which one is better or which sounds warmer. Good luck.

I definately agree with Dark October, I love my audio technica 4050. Great for my pre-production! I also looooovvveeee my Audio Logic Platinum along with my G4 titanium and a sh!t load of plug-ins! Once again, this combination works great for all my pre-production.

But if your truly serious, then Edwin definately makes more sense with Protools.....an Amazing platform!!!

Take care

yea.... an AT 4050 might be ideal for you..price wise.

i own an AT 4050 and an AT 4033 and i think they're great

Orgnator1: i own (2) VT-737's and (1) 747sp..i swear by them..lol
