Ok, I'm sure I'm missing an inside joke, but Heavenly, seriously, don't touch your cat's whiskers.

I never knew this, but I discovered it watching "Animal Planet". Apparently, they help a cat to "feel" and while most people think of them as "hair" are very sensative, and it would be like someone directly touching your nerve endings.

This came about becuase they had a cat in a vet's office whose whiskers were burned and they said that was probably a very painful experience for the cat.

The vet that works for the aspca on the Animal Network said that is not a good idea, and it can be very painful to the cat.
