just thought id share with you guys my freestyle mega mix. its 30 minutes long!
it has all of my favorite freestyle songs in it. I'm also a big michael jackson fan so i made an mj mix too. his is 10 minutes long. check them both out. i made them both in .rm format so they would download faster. now im not a dj or anything so this is just my attempt at mixing. hope you like them anyway!

Wuz sup,.. girl first I'd like to say since you did mention that this is your first try at megamixing I commend you for trying and be willing to share it.

With that said,. the mixing part it self no I was not feeling at all,. I'll mention just one thing on some of the tracks the cuts were done to soon or too late,. but I do see what it was you were trying to get at with it.

The track selection is awesome surely some of the best freestyle songs out there.

Keep it up,. maybe mixing is something you will enjoy and the more you do it the better you will get at it for sure.

Also before anyone out here wants to misconstrude what I say Let me just mention that Mega mixing Yes Mega mixing is Very Very hard to do,. it's not an easy task and does take a lot of time to learn and master.

Any female that attempts to mix, remix, edit, whatever.....I have to give props to. What do you plan on doing musically?
 
hehe yeah i know the cuts came in too soon or too late at times. i could tell that on some parts but it was so hard to fix sometimes so i just thought forget it im just gonna leave it lol but you are right its VERY HARD!!!! and i just copied and pasted songs together...i cant imagine how some djs actually mix layers of songs together...thats too hard for me to imagine. but yeah it was my first attempt so 🙂

and carlitos way...im actually a singer...
 
hey...the program i use is called acid pro 4.0
its pretty simple. and i wouldnt mind doing a few freestyle songs. right now im working on an r&b style song ..then i wanna do a club cut...but after that i will probably try to make a freestyle song and see how it comes out. anyway thanks for listening!
 
Hello Erika,

Well I gotta tell ya!!! For the first try, you did get your intent across well. The technical aspect of it will come in time. Please do not get discouraged; as BBK stated, Mega Mixes are a hard task to accomplish. There is a strong level of creativity needed. With the songs you chose be it on purpose or by luck, you have a good blend of bpms and rhythm. Keep going. Hell, I'll host your mix once you think your ready!!

and candyland girl..yes i went to his out in '03 it was amazing. michael wasnt there though unfortunately so i havent met him yet. but we got to go inside his house..the servants made us food and everything. it was an all day things. we got to ride the rides and watch movies in the teathre. all the games are free and theres like free candy and at every corner. we saw the zoo and everything. it was pretty cool. i wish michael was there though but he wasnt.

lol ... it's funny how sometimes people take mixing too seriously to the point they think it's like a form of ART. Anyway Erika I just got the chance to listen to your mix and I think it was not bad for your first try. I usually use Pro Tools XP and Cool Edit for my mixing so I'm not really familiar with Acid Pro. But nonetheless it was definitely a good start. I can't really give you advice on how to mix though because I learned all my mixing skills through college and really haven't had a passion for it since I graduated with my Bachelors degree. But I have to agree with TED that creativity does play a major part in mixing so I guess you could try something like a "old school meets new school" mix or a "english/spanish freestyle" mix. Although it's been done before it doesn't mean the formula can't be reused. But anyway like I said nonetheless it was a good start. But just remember that your mixes can't always please everybody so always expect good and bad comments from critics in the future.

nujerz the site works fine for me...dont know..theres an option to click on dial up or high speed on the cover page..it should work...
