My baby started 4th grade today

he just finally got back from miami last night.....we didnt even get to spend anytime together because i had to get him to bed.....i took him out to breakfast this morning and then off to school......oh my goodness....i cant believe how time flies sooo fast.....i remember walkin him thru the door just for kindergarten only 5 years ago.....at that time i still got a kiss and hug....1st grade was just a hug, then 2nd was just a quick kiss and a slick wipe of the lips (lol), 3rd was a quick wave, i dont think he even said goodbye today.....he's like a little grown man....i even parked around the corner so i could walk him the rest of the way.....he just took off with his friends and probably wouldnt have turned around again if i wasnt carrying his supplies lol....its only been 3 hours but i already miss him.....why cant they just stay little forever?????

i feel for you......i can only imagine what your school supply shopping must have been like...lol
i dont even wanna think about what its going to be like when he gets to junior high.....my niece started back in high school 11th grade....i had to get up at 6:30am to wake her up because she starts class at 7:20....i told her she needs to change her schedule to at least 8am because i cant be getting up that early every morning....

Yep, I feel for you...mine just started 4th grade too. I was already warned on the way to the bus stop that it is prohibited to embarrass her in front of the other kids by crying, nor can I call her any embarrassing pet names. The good thing is that none of the other parents or kids speak Spanish, so when I have to tell her something that might embarrass her, I go off in Spanish, hehe. She asked me to groom her eye brows already. She had the uni-brow thing going on and in 4th grade that's a no-no. $th grade is great though. Your son should love it.

i think any grade has to be better than 3rd.....with all the stress of the city wide exams for the first time.....it was a nut house in that school all year long.....they push soooo much....they do it to remain in the top 3 public for NYC......but i think its just too much...

I know they seem to push the kids really hard today. I know my daughter's school was doing dictation in kindergarten. But kindergarten was the hard year for her. Her teacher wasn't too nice.

:shush ....lol.....thats the one thing i have always said was that if he inherits anything from his pops, i hope its his height....im only 5'5 and i want him to be at least a good 5'10.......he's on his way....since he is with me 24/7 it never seems like he has grown, but since he stayed in miami and i didnt see him for 2 weeks, when i picked him up from the airport its seemed like he had suddenly grown a million inches lol.....

cool beans......he came home today and said he wants to stay in 4th grade forever......he absolutely loves his teacher....said she is the nicest teacher in the world....
