My opinion is "Money Is Everything". Maybe it CAN'T buy you happiness but I'd rather try it out.

This has been a topic in my household and to be without it just has to be the worst.

Without money, you can't eat. Are you happy without money if your stomach is growling of hunger? I don't think so.

Without money, you can't pay rent or mortgage. Are you happy without money if you're homeless? I don't think so.

With money, there CAN and WILL be problems but I personally feel there are a lot more problems WITHOUT it. So to me, "Money is Everything."

What's your opinion?

Well, money is important, but it's not everything.

I have some money, but nowhere what I would like, but I don't sweat it.

There are more important things to worry about.

I don't think its everything, but I do think that it is needed in order to put yourself on the road to happiness. Now I'm not saying that you need millions, but you need atleast the basics so that you can be comfortable and be able to provide for you family.

hm... Money is everything... but it cant buy you happiness.

i agree with u betty... it can buy u things u need to make urself feel good(make-up,clothes, shoes 😀) and to help u survive (food, water, bills) things of that sort. Without it, u cant survive on earth.

but it cant buy u happiness. u cant buy real love, or true friendships, or real trust.

I don't think money is EVERYTHING! I think as long as you can feed yourself, roof over your head, and pay your bills without killing yourself doing it ....then you're ok. I mean as long as I have those things and not "worry" so much about paying bills... just being comfortable and sometimes getting some extras would be nice every now and then.

So nope I don't think money is everything.... I think as long as you're with the people you love and put a smile on their faces be it with a kind word from you or a hug will be the greatest gift .... those are the ones you remember not the material gifts you get. Did I make any sense...lol

Roflmaooo, I agree Betty!!!! Money is the most essential tool in life. They say you can't buy happiness well let me try it!!!. You can't be happy without money either.. Why, cause that's the way society and the government make it. You can't enjoy yourself if your worried about your bills or debt..without money your limited...Yes there are a few who have made it without money to the point that now they have some., but just try to take it away, you'll find out how important it is to them. Some people compare the love of money to the love of family..well you can't really compare the two. If you really break it down a parents love for their kids is what strives the to make a successful living.. what does that mean.. It means Help them to make wise decisions so the can be financially secure!!! Again where back to money!!!

Sorry I lost it for a min.

ok heres how it works i guess. having some money is reason to be happy, but having MORE money does not increase happiness. look at the richest people on earth, are they necessairly the happiest people on earth? im sure theres average people who are happier than bill gates even though they couldnt afford to buy what bill gates can. and of course, if you have no money and ur homeless then how can you be happy. i guess just as long as you have the basics, its up to you to decide how happy you want to be with your life. but if you have more than enough then that does NOT guarantee more happiness than other people.

Truly understand Ted. We know money doesn't buy love or happiness. And yes the government and society has made it. Look how now the government is trying to cut Social Security benefits. WTF, that's money that the retired will look forward to. Hmmmmmmm...........

Here in america we are a society of consumers. We have been taught that we need more, we need bigger, we need better, and that is how life works here in the US. I worked with this girl from India who basically couldn't believe how everyone here is never satisfied with what they have, it's always about getting more. She couldn't understand the obsession of getting more and I guess everyone who isn't from here and has never been exposed to this type of system would see it the same way.

Although there still are a few americans that are here and don't buy into the mentality of "more bigger and more better". For instance I have a friend who I grew up with in the projects of So. San Diego. He put himself through college but never really used his degree for anything. He still felt that he belonged in the hood no matter what. Well I was living in a small 3 bedroom home and expecting our 4th kid so we made the decision to move to bigger place outside of the neighborhood and he gave me so much crap about "why am I leaving?", "What's wrong with staying in the same small house?" "Just pile up the kids in the rooms". Needless to say I did move but it surprised me how it was so inconceivable to him that I wanted to give my kids a better more comfortable life than I had growing up.

BOTTOM LINE: In this country money makes life easier and in this system money is a necessity not a luxury.

"Money doesn't equal happiness it just makes it easier to be happy."

Hummmm, I totally understand what you're saying LaBetty. I don't think you mean it's "everything", but people with money have it easier and they can't say they don't.

I would like to be able to buy my son a new coat when his zipper breaks to the point of not being able to fix it. I have to wait until I get paid to do anything some times and that bothers me.

I would love to buy a house and it being "ours" and not worrying about what the landlord is going to say if I got my kids a puppy.

Here's my two cents peoples, Money is a neccesity as far as survival, we all need it to survive, now since money is the root of all evil, it can work against you if you don't know how to manage it, Too much money can bring you problems, like haters trying to use you and so forth, and too lil money is something that most of us can relate to, like most people I basically work for my bills, projects, and what not, and if I'm lucky I can have some left for things entertainment, movies and etc...I also discovered who were my real friends with money issues, when you have money , everyone wants to be your friend, when your broke no one wants to even bother you cause you just plain flat out broke! I learned thoughout my whole career the power of money, and it goes a lil something like this, now..if your not satisfied with your money situations, you have to know the game. There are two types of people on this world, those that work to make money, and those who make money from making there money work! For more details, I suggest reading this book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" Robert T. Kiyosaki

Money is the root of all evil. People kill each other over it, couples fight because of it, and you can not live without it. Money can't buy you happiness? I beg to differ. Can you be happy without money? Nope, no way. Money can't buy you love? Oh yes it can. Who would want someone who has no money? Sounds jacked up....sad but true. Just imagine taking someone out on a date and not having any money to pay for her/him.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm no Mr Crabs or anything but money is what makes this world go round. I'm not a money hungry hippo either but I've been without money and there's nothing happy or lovely about it. Without money, you're credit gets wrecked, and you can get behind in bills so bad that it's almost impossible to catch up. I've been lucky to never get to that level but you can imagine what it would be like.

I don't believe that money is the root of evil. It's people that carry the evil inside them. Money brings the evil out in some people.

Money is just a component of the system. Individuals can have money and be either happy or sad. People with humility and the understanding of the components of life are the happiest, no matter how much money they have.

I live paycheck to paycheck, with some money saved away in a 401k, and in a stock purchase plan at work.

I'm happier now than ever before.
