Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams Retires

Yesterday Ricky Williams announced that he was ending a 5 year NFL Carrer after playing for The Saints and Dolphins. He said that his heart was not in football anymore. Ricky rushed for 1600 yards last year for the Dolphins but still did not make the Playoffs. Willams is 27, first round pick from Texas.

He is being hammered on Sports Talk radio for being selfish with his decision.

I know where you are on that Krys. Williams did wreck The Saints team when Ditka traded the whole team for Ricky Williams.

It's just fishy why now he is retiring. He did fail two drug tests. He might have been scared that a third one he would be out!!.

He seemed like he was thinking about this for a long time. I respect the decision. But the timing was bad. I blame the Miami front office. They knew what they was getting with Ricky Williams. This is a guy with a social disorder, a weed addict, gives interviews with his helmet on, hired Master P as his Agent, agreed to pose on ESPN The Magazine wearing a Wedding dress. He is a wierd cat. On the other hand, I can understandthat he don't want to get too many bad injuries like many RB's had in the past like Earl Campbell(Houston Oilers Rookie 1978), who now in his 50's has to walk with a cane.
