i think fever is definately gonna be the label to watch for this year for hot freestyle! to me, after about 93 all the metropolitan stuff kinda started to sound the same. same bass beats, same subjects, even similar ad-libs!

my guess as far as timber is concerned, that label was biggest known for the freestyle and electro comps. tho they were excellent and probably still sell pretty good, after u pay everyone who u used for the albums, it probably doesnt leave u with much to run a label. and George LaMond & Cynthia were the only well known acts timber was associated with (i think). so only two money making acts and a rack of comps, they were probably spending more than was coming in and called it quits.
timber! was ran by freestyle pioneer Joey Gardner. the label was affiliated with Tommy Boy. Gardner wanted to branch out and eventually the renewal contract with Timber! and Tommy Boy was not signed. He branche doff and started Harlem Knight Productions. Cynthia and George Lamond's albums were released only with the TIMBER! imprint. anyways i wonder what Joey's up tp these days!
