Damn, how did I miss this one? Lol! I been on the search for the Frankie Knuckles 'Motivation' & Blaze 'Spiritually Speaking' cd's for so long, I let this one slip right by me.
I first heard India's "Backfired" track out not long ago (tho it came out around this time last year) and I had to cop it after that. I mean, of course India's givin up 200% everytime. But the whole cd is blazin'!
They brought together a lot of legends for the cd, which was kewl to hear these guys under MAW production. Besides India, they got my boys Roy Ayers and James Ingram tearin' it up over some badazz MAW beats. It's also got the old soca jam "Work" which was crazy. Then they gotta track for Fela Kuti which I think was done by one of his wives, Wunmi (not sure though). Stephanie Mills (who rivals Safire in vocal styling, to me) and Patti Austin are also on there too.
It ends with this girl talking about how she just missed the WTC tragedies because she was mixin some MAW stuff and just happened to be late for work that morning. How badazz is that? Lol
The cd was dope from beginning to end.
Anyways, it ain't freestyle, but it's hot nevertheless. Did any of u guys check it out already?
