Believe it or not!

One day I came into work and saw my co-worker who by the way, owns a studio uptown, talking to a guy with dreads. I naturally asked her who he was and lo & behold she said "oh! that's Marshall Jones...He has been using our studio for awhile now....I said let me make sure that it's really who I think it is...so...

I went up to him and sung "I Burn...for your kisses in the night...blah! blah! blah! And he said "Yep, that's me!"

I gave him a short interview... He told me that after working on a few records that he got royally screwed by his record label, got discouraged and ever since had tried to start a career as a rock artist...

I have his rock album that he tried to promote last year...
I asked him that if Freestyle was ever to come back would he lay some tracks? He looked at the floor, shook his head and said "NEVER!" I told him about clubfreestyle and FEVER 2000 reunion thing. He said that's great and talked about rock. Then Poof! he left...

Too bad! Ehh...

I Burn remains one of my fav songs in almost the WHOLE Freestyle Greatest Beats collection (that's saying a lot). My boy listens to spanish reggae & he has a track that uses the I Burn sampling!

I wonder, did he only have this single? I did a search in google, but came back empty handed!

I can't tell you how long I thought he was cursing on "I Burn". It's nice to know that I wasn't the only one.

The line in the song you're refering to, you think you hear this:

"It comes to me, In a wave of ectasy, and the only really fu*king fun comes down to you and me."

What the line really is, is this:

"It comes to me, In a wave of ectasy, and the only relief I can find comes down to you and me."

I Burn is one of my all time favorite freestyle songs! And yes, I also thought he was cursing but I knew I was only hearing things because the song got too much airplay on KTU to have a curse in it..lol Bella.,..i would also love to know what Marsall is up to these days!
