I know we have had threads posted in regards to who is the King of Freestyle etc etc. I wanted to know and we prob have had thjis posted as well but who do ya think played a major role and had a real impact on FS please dont put people down cause they ya fav artist lol like most tend to do btu who do you think played a big role in FS and for the artist who answer who did you admire coming into the game? BE Blessed

I can only think of three: Coro, George Lamond and Stevie B.

Stevie B and George Lamond cuz they are known even by those that don't listen to freestyle...Marc Anthony cuz he expanded and I'm sure people who are his fans have atleast given his old stuff a listen

And in Canada Joee...he's branched off and done pop, RnB, spanish, etc so again creating lots of fans that will listen all his music

Hmmmnnnn I could always go with the Norm of George Lamond but I will move away and give it a different look. I would have to say Manny. His talent and professionalism I more than respect. Angel Mena who never knew existed before I saw him perform at Backdrafts really impressed me. His Vocals and tone are great! Defiantely looking for his stuff to spin. Nick Colon also I would definatly pick up a new cd from him if he puts one out. And of course the ever Crackalackin NU IMAGE. Gotta love these guys they definatly have my respect and suppport. Now I dont know about all the other artists Ive mentioned but one thing I see in common with the fellas Ive mentioned is they can or do thier own tracks. Not thats a prerequisite with me but thats Talent I respect. When you can truly and audibally paint what you feel.

So as far as impact they've made one on me and hopefully in the future to reach a larger and bigger one for the genre 😉

Stevie B's biggest hit was "Because I Love You" from back in the day. It crossed over so much into the music scene, that almost everyone (even those who did not listen to Freestyle) knew of the song and knew of the artist who wrote and sang the song.

Damn that song makes me cry LOL.

George Lamond, his pipe's are absolutely incredible, he is so diverse, as seen on his overlooked 2nd cd on Columbia.

OK I got to say two artist who have deff made an impact in the industry for me are K7 & George Lamond they both stepped outside of Freestyle and mae it big they can go in between genres and work it and deff opened doors for so many artist. Nick Colon he knows I luv him from the first time I heard his voice I was liek whoah hes special and he writes his stuff with Petey working alongside him and there chemistry they do some good shiat lol, Manny exremely talented with words and voice he too is diverse Ive always loved his music before I met the man and he keeps it moving giving it his all manny dont stop. Nu-Image I respect there work ethics there way they keep in touch with there fan base looking for feedback and imput and they harmonize together so well plus they write which is always a big plus with me. 🙂

Collage aka Adamo Morano has had a big impact too...especially here in Canada, he's developed a lot of artists, produces and writes a lot of songs and even with his own projects he's contributed a lot

I forgot to mention him before

i think george lamond, stevie b, coro, and even marc anthony. when i first saw mark perform "rebel" it blew me away. to be realistic there are many more such as willie valentine, joey kid, noel that i admire for there talent but george and stevie are the guys that come to mind when i think of freestlye pioneers.

i take that back they are all freestyle pioneers

Ang, you know i go with George Lamond on this one girl..that boy had hit after hit, and he still hasn't faded into obscurity,he is still out there doing his thing..He and Chris Barbosa made a fabulous duo!

as well as the group TKA, them boys had baja panty songs for days!

I have never been a fan of Stevie B's music, most of it all sounds the same to me.

yes tka... well kayel that is. no disrepect to the other guys but kayel is the man.

I deff agree George is deff one of the pioneers when yuo can cross over into another Genre and make as much noise much props TkA as well them boys stay doing there thing and Kay continues to do his thing Stevie I have never really followed his career but these two are my top two that deff opened doors and till this day are doing show after show and recording great music. There are a lot of artist such as Sam Savon Sebastian Pain, NV that I love to.

For Brooklyn thugs...Coro is da-man. 🙂 Thats all you hear in the streets...where you are tonight my loveeee...
