just some ideas on how to bring freestyle to tha spotlight where it belongs!:
1. more airplay & publicity (which seems to b tha most difficult step)
2. back in tha day when freestyle was popular, there was a lotta artists releasing quality singles and albums. now its just a hot freestyle record that catches on every now & then (ex: "in a dream", "if i had the chance", "i do both jay & jane") when back in tha day there would be a lotta songs that would b popular like this. i mean one hot single is cool but its not enough to make freestyle popular.
3. videos - good way to get ur name out there! good advertising! people can see how tha artist who's singing their favorite song looks, moves, their whole image. look at all tha hip hop/r&b/pop videos that are out! if u dont got tha cd or hear them on tha radio, they're on ur tv! their in ur face whether u like it or not! lol!
4. collabos - someone had a thread about hip hop & r&b artists collaborating all tha time and i think that would b good for freestyle as well. some of tha ol skool artists carrying some of tha newer ones. it could work for freestyle in making more lesser know artists popular. if i see that this new artist did a song with cynthia or tka or somethin, i'll remember them and b on tha lookout for them as solo artists in tha future.
5. no more whack stuff! lol!
tha point is - freestyle is not dead. no matter what no one says. it can be popular like everything else. there will b a freestyle song out that becomes very popular every now & then. so obviously people still wanna hear it. but tha thing is, you could b 1 of tha most talented peeps in tha world. but if no one sees u or hears u - it doesnt matter.
tell me what u think
