I sat quietly and listened to the rain...sat in total silence....alone with no distractions, no music...just alone for twenty minutes.
I watched as the rain pelted the grass, the leaves and the ground. I wondered how many times does a drop repeatedly hit a spot. Sat...observing...breathing in the scent of the rain that made everything shine with such natural beauty.
As I looked up at the wet bannister of the porch, I couldn't help but to weep....tears runing down my face, overwhelming me. A deep feeling of loss as I thought of the white cat I had seen moments before.
She was simply beautiful as she stood there poised, her white bushy tail standing tall. I beckoned to her yet she stood her ground, braving the elements as raindrops fell from the leaves over her head. She timidly sniffed out the area searching for the lover that had so abruptly left her behind. The same lover that would grace me with his presence on the bannister, purring as I stroked behind his ears.
I cried thinking of her loneliness...her torn heart suffering with despair as she searched the same way I searched for the adult cat that I feel in my heart will never ever return.
Wiping away my tears, her final cry I heard as I sat solitary watching the drops that pelted the earth wishing that "Lucky" would grace me with his presence once more.
