I'm looking for the original artist of the song "sweetheart". I'm not sure if it's considered a freestyle song or not. The only version I've been able to find is a remake by Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri. I'd be grateful for any information anyone can provide. The Mariah version is ok but I'd really like to get my hands on the original on CD if possible.

Rainy Davis is the origional singer around 1986-87. It's by far the best version of this song.

Rainy Davis released a full length cd called "Sweetheart". I've found it on gemm.com, I don't know if there is a cd single of the song "Sweetheart".
