Sold: a lovely Dutch Colonial home on Long Island with five bedrooms, 3-1/2 baths - and maybe a ghost or two.
"The Amityville Horror" house that scared the dickens out of a legion of moviegoers has been sold, according to reports.
A contract has been signed by the buyers who live in town but "wanted to get on the water in a big, old, classic house," Newsday reported.
The home at 108 Ocean Ave. was on the market for $1.5 million, but what it sold for wasn't immediately known.
Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot his parents and four siblings dead there 36 years ago.
The family who bought the house after the killings moved out in less than a month after complaining of ghosts.
The murders inspired the spooky novel "The Amityville Horror: A True Story" as well as a string of horror films.
