Letting Go

In my wildrest dreams,
I never thought I'd have to let you go.
But it seems like I have no other choice.
Things are not the same anymore.
My heart was once so full with love,
Now my eyes are filled with tears,
Because I have to let you go.
I wish I could turn back the hands of time,
To when I thought we had a chance,
Before I found out the truth,
That I would have to let you go.
As each day passes by, I find the love we once had,
Slipping away.
And I come to the realization,
That I have to let you go.
But I know that I will always care about you,
And wish you the best.
The love is still there, if you should ever choose to seek it out.
Though I guess some things are just not meant to be.
So in order to protect my heart from more pain,
Im letting go.
