THIS YEAR FREESTYLE WAS HEARD A LITTLE MORE THEN WE ALL THOUGHT. IN 2000 THE FREESTYLE CONCERTS STARTED BY 2002 THE WERE MORE CONCERTS AND THEY WERE MORE ON THE RADIO THEN USUAL. BUT LETS SEE?!?! IS IT GOOD OR BAD??? WELL IT'S GOOD BECAUSE THEY ARE PLAYING IT, BUT HOW GOOD IS IT WHEN THEY DON'T PLAY NEW STUFF? TKA HAVE A NEW ALBUM, BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SAY IT WAS A GREAT ALBUM OR A BAD ALBUM WITHOUT LABELING IT? NOEL HAD A NEW SINGLE AGAIN THE QUESTION POPS UP AGAIN, HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SAY IT WAS A GREAT ALBUM OR A BAD ALBUM WITHOUT LABELING IT? JOHNNY O., & SAFIRE, BOTH PUT OUT A NEW ALBUM AND AGAIN THE QUESTION POPS UP, HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SAY IT WAS A GREAT ALBUM OR A BAD ALBUM WITHOUT LABELING IT? NOBODY LISTENS NOR HAVE AN OPEN MIND TO NEW MUSIC, OK IT MAY NOT BE ALL FREESTYLE, BUT HEY THEY GAVE MOST OF THEIR LIVES WITH NOTHING, BUT FREESTYLE. CAN WE APPRICIATE THAT THEY DID NOT ABANDOMED US? AS FOR THE NEWSCHOOL ARTISTS NICK COLON, ASHLEY, NU IMAGE, WILLIE VALENTIN, ARTIE, MYSELF INCLUDED ALL BUST OUR ASSES TO GIVE YOU GUYS MUSIC, TO SHOW THAT OUR MUSIC HAS NOT DIE, BUT AGAIN THE QUESTION POPS UP, HOW GOOD ARE WE, OR HOW BAD WAS WE? WELL NOTHING IS EVER GOOD ENOUGH. ALOT OF FANS SAY THEY ARE GOING TO SHOWS, BUT CAN WE SAY HOW MANY OF US ACTUALLY CAN SAY WE WENT. I KNOW THAT FIND BABYSITTER IS HARD, I'M A FATHER, AND I ALSO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE NO RIDE OR NO WAY OF GETTING THERE, BECAUSE OF LIVE TO FAR YOU CAN NOT MAKE IT. BUT IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN MAKE IT, DO YOU GO? IT'S ALL ON US TO MAKE IT GROW I HAVE A SHOW TODAY AT BLOSSOMS WITH 18 OTHER ACTS INCLUDING ASHLEY, EDWIN RAMOS, AYNA, AND MANY MORE, BUT HOW MANY WILL GO? WELL ONLY IF THERES THAT MANY ARTISTS THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY GO. COME ON NOW, WE NEED TO GET BETTER AT THE SHOWS TO SHOW THE PROMOTERS THAT WE HAVE WHAT IT TAKES. BUT NOT UNTIL THEN OUR MUSIC WILL NOT GET LOUDER. THE OLDSCHOOL KATS CAN PERFORM EVERY WHERE, HEY THEY MADE THIS INDUSTRY WHICH WE ARE ALL THANKFULL FOR, BUT IF WE DON'T OPEN THE DOOR TO THE NEW ARTISTS DO YOU THINK WE CAN SURVIVE? I THINK NOT. IF FREESTYLE WAS DEAD AS MANY LIKE TO SAY NOT MANY WOULD BUST THEIR ASSES TO KEEP DOING OUR MUSIC THAT WE ALL LOVE. REMENBER IT TAKES ALOT OF PEOPLE TO MAKE MUSIC GROW IT DOES NOT TAKE 1 PERSON TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. SO LETS TRY A LITTLE HARDER FOR 2003 AND ALSO LETS GIVE THE NEWSCHOOL A CHANCE AND GIVE THE OLDSCHOOL A BREAK LETS HEAR WHAT ELSE THEY HAVE, AND ENCOURAGE EVERY ARTISTS THAT CAN PERFORM (i MEAN WITH TALENT OF COURSE, SORRY DON'T MEAN TO BE MEAN, BUT LETS WORK HARDER YOU NEWSCHOOLERS) LETS MAKE A DIFFERANCE BY SHOWING MORE SUPPORT TO OUR MUSIC....LETS STOP WITH THE BASHING, AND THE DIZZING, LET JOIN TOGETHER AS ARTISTS, AS PRODUCERS, AS FANS, AND A WEB NETS, WE CAN COVER MORE AREAS IF WE WORK TOGETHER THEN SEPERATE. DON'T YOU THINK? 😀 ......SO LETS HOPE FOR A BETTER YEAR IN 2003!!!!!! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST YOUR OPINION...THANX TO ALL THE FANS THAT I HAD THROUGHT OUT THE YEARS AND SINCE I'VE JOIN THE SITE. THANK YOU ALL HAPP Y NEW YEAR!:hearton

Alex, you know I'll be there bro!

Please understand that many fans prefer to type on the computer than make an effort to go to the shows, big or small. It's just the way it is bro. Don't let it get to you! 🙂

As I said in a previous post on a different topic, everyone has different ways of showing support. I have trouble getting to a lot of the shows because I dont have a car and live in area where public transportation is a problem. As a matter of fact, they are doing away with express bus service on Saturdays come January 1st, and there is no train here either. But anyway, I have purchased most of the albums that Alex mentioned before, including the Latin Nation cd, which I love. I support freestyle in any possible way I can. Luckily, I have gotten to see many artists perform and I hope that continues in the future. Anthony, no disrepect to you or anything, but there are a lot of devoted freestyle fans out there. In fact when I talk to new people, they cant believe how much I know about freestyle. Sorry I cant make it to all the shows, but it doesnt mean Im not a big fan. I will support freestyle in any way I can, even if I cant get to all of the shows.

Freestylegal, I didn't specify names, so no need to take it personal. If it doesn't apply to you, it doesn't apply. If it does, it does.

Tony, Holllllllaaaaaaa !!:blah

As I've said time and time again. If freestyle is going to make a tremendous comeback, the new up and coming freestyle producers must be more creative production wise and give us a unique sound with a catchy hook. I'm tired of the same old planet rock samples, SP 1200 kicks and snares & weak vocals.

Tony, can I get an amen. 😀

Smoothie:

I will give you both an amen and a holllllllaaaaaaaa...😀 :nutz

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE POST, AND NO I DOESN'T GET TO ME AT ALL, I'VE BEEN IN THIS BUSINESS FOR ABOUT 19 YEARS NOW SEEING IT GROW AND THEN CRUMBLE TO THE GROUND. AND PLEASE LETS NOT MAKE INTO A DRAMA. EVERYBODY IS IN TITTLE TO THEIR VIEWS AND THOUGHTS, PLUS OPINIONS. LIKE I SAID I WANT TO HAVE AN OPEN DISCUSSION WITH EVERYBODY WITHOUT HURTING EACH OTHER. FREESTYLE GAL ALWAYS SUPPORTED. AND MANY OF YOU'S WILL BE THERE TONIGHT AT BLOSSOMS IN BAY RIDGE, BROOKLYN, NY. AND SOME MAY NOT GO, BUT IT'S ALL GOOD. SMOOTH AND MEZ YOU GUYS ARE 100 % RIGHT...ARTISTS, PRODUCERS AND LABELS GOTTA WORK HARDER IN WHAT THEY PUSH OUT. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR THOUGHTS...NAYA 😉

Well said Alex!!!!!
See you all tonight.....

To all : The last few months I've gotten back into freestyle. I was raised on the music @ a local skating rink. Saturday nights full of micmac + metro. I got out of it though and for a while I was in the rave scene. I still am in the rave scene, but I'm also coming back to my roots : the skating scene.

I haven't really known freestyle all my life like some...I've only known DJing for about 5 years. The more I look into this scene, I really see some dedicated people and artists that are on a level with the fans more than ever. Its really cool to see this going on.

I sorrily can't say I've ever been to a freestyle show, and while many of you may find this hard to believe, I've never really danced to freestyle, only ever skated to it. We "shuffle" which is a synrochonized skating pattern. Sometimes 13+ people do one pattern @ a time. We would never been to do this had freestyle never come about. House is ok to skate to, but the chunky beats and beautiful melodies, and the stories of love make freestyle the best music to skate to.

I'm coming back to support freestyle after the many years I abandoned it. I missed the release of Tazmania 5+ and all those other great albums from 1997 to now.

I support freestyle by spinning it. If anybody can help me in finding records, as they are so hard to find [yes ebay is my new friend] in good condition too, then I will definitely support the scene.

Anybody in PA let me know who you are...I'm on the eastern side in the city of Allentown, 45 mins north of Allentown...anybody who wants to come and support freestyle, come with me, we spin this stuff all night long. 🙂

Let me clarify...I will definitely support the scene either way but I can support it more if I spin the records 🙂 Exposing freestyle to skaters...

How far are you from Manhattan or Queens? There are shows going on almost weekly. Perhaps you can make it down one day. My friend Rhoq comes down here and there to see the shows. He's in Philly though, which may be much closer than you.

As far as records go, email me at Freestyle12s@aol.com and I'll get you some people and places you can get freestyle records from. 🙂

Btw, welcome to the board 🙂
