Lead singer of STARPOINT dies

I can't beleive I JUST came to know this last night!!!

One of my favorite vocalists (Renee Diggs), of 80's dance/funk/freestyle band STARPOINT died this past March, 2005. She was the strong vocalist on hot 80's tracks like: "Object Of My Desire" & "He Wants My Body".
(Which i'm sure u guys are fans of).

She died due to complications with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) & her heart.

When I found their sites a couple years ago, (both the bands, & hers), I knew she was sick, & that she was a fighter, still performing with the band on club dates. She also did charity work, & helped spread the word on MS.

Not only was she beautiful, but one of the f*ckin' best kick-a$$ vocalists of our time! Don't know anyone who sounded like her. Definately a staple in the 80's Dance scene. May God bless her, and may her & Starpoint's music continue to thrive in our hearts & memories. 🙂

...the group became Starpoint in 1978...and was signed to Casablanca records...and their first single was "I just wanna dance with you" in 1980...they had four hit albums on Chocolate city/Casablanca records...from 1980 - 1982...after that they signed with Boardwalk rec's in 1983...and released one album and a 12", but the label closed and their 1983 album was so released on their new label....Elektra, and their 2nd 12" from the album and 1st 12" on Elektra was "It's so delicious" the title of their 1983 album...and bla, bla, bla..lol...🙂
