No longer president of sony discos.
Sony discos monopoly cut in halph and changed into a north and a south division.Oscar Llord now moves to his next move.......while
1/2 of apointed sony discos staff under the direction of oscar llord is said also to lose thier positions.
gabriel Buitrago of the sony dance dept....has lost his position as of Friday June 30,2003. Word is still to be developed about outcomes of sony discos dance dept projects and other companies to be distributed by sony discos (ex: Jellybean recordings).
gabriel buitrago was known for his involvment with artist such as Fiori, danny canary (dj fluid), fiori and many others. After sony discos and jellybean lounched and paved the way with China dolls (D'luna), they continued on the same freestyle/break path with INDIA'S "seduceme". More info on developments as they come.
Congress steps up to further develop two laws: 1. A bill that would directly affect legal forms of payola practices between a handfull of record labels, promotional middle men and radio stations.
The industry gears up as more changes will ocur into the summer season.2: The rave act, now called the Amber alert bill continues down its path to become a law through out the land, targeting club,radio, event promoters (everyone) to be fined or jailed if patrons at thier events are cought using ilegal substances. (this also includes freestyle events,sorry).
DETOUR records and Films anounces the two upcoming video projects after their colabortation with orlando's Hiden image entertainment on rockells' "tears" video. Detour will start shooting the music Videos for the new D'luna (China doll) "come with me" and a video for Tito Puente JR "heres to You". D'luna now becomes the poster girl for detour records, as she now will also host the NRG -TV show that is said to lounch this fall. Now dubed the NEW QUEEN OF Miami freestyle/Breaks, she is already starting to dominate radio turfs and mix shows with her july/summer2003 release "Come with me"; at the same time has many projects lined up with producers such as guissepe D in new york and many others.Much is on the D/L.
Miami gears up, as more companies begin to migrate to miami for the summer 2003 season, as hollywood and the music industry have already secretly established sub-companies and miami is said to blow up after the premeir of bad boys II and fast and the Furius this summer(both filmed in miami).
and top of the news: you can now hear more and more classic latin hiphop records like Lisa lisa and cult jam, shanon, freestyle, trenier during both 99jamz and 103.5 the beat during friday old school jam sessions.So not only the latin station is going back to its freestyle roots, but the hiphop and R&b sations are now in for the race as well.
