😕 Why is it, that freestyle artists are good enough to fill up HonkaBonkas two nights in a row, they had to give tons of tickets away on the radio because the demand was so high....it was sold out at ticketmaster. KTU called it the "Biggest Show of the Year"! And not one of them will be appearing at "Mircale on 34th Street", not even Safire & Cynthia who had the most requested song peaking at #2 with 40,000+ votes.
This really gets my "Jingle Balls" in a knot 😡. Maybe we should finally get togehter and stop talking crap....and do something about it by calling the radio station and letting them know how we feel....IT'S WRONG what they do to Freestyle Artists it's nothing short of PIMPING!

hmm..I have to say that I agree. If there were no freestyle artists getting current airplay then I could see why they wouldnt be booked...but with the success of "can you stand the rain," I think Cynthia and safire should have at least been booked.
 
can u stand the rain hasn't been on the ktu playlist in weeks. they stopped playing it. i called ktu the other day asking why, and they said nobody was requesting it anymore. guess not as many people want to hear freestyle as much as we think. does anyone ever think of it that way? there's too much wack new stuff for freestyle to be take seriously nowadays. look at the playlist here. www.ktu.com. you'll see its not on there
 
like i stated in a previous thread, "never in the history of miracle on 34th street has there been a freestyle artist been able to perom there."
 
they just had 2 HUGE freestyle shows back to back at hunka bunka. what other station does that? ktu supports freestyle more than any station in the world. so if i were u,i would stop complainig and be lucky you dont live in Kalamazoo Michigan where NO freestyle is played. LMAO

i was at both shows at hunka bunka. (i won tix for the 2nd night, and bought tix for thurs nigt). how many of you were even there for those shows? nutin for nutin but the complaining on this website is really rediculous. and i've only been here few weeks. i know i may be a little biased towards ktu because one of my friends DJ Ridler is one of the mixes there. but some of u sound like a bunch of little bitches...lmao. they just gave u 2 huge shows, now u want Miracle on 34th st too. LMAO. be happy they support freestyle more than any other station. i am
 
i was there both nights for the Hunka Bunka shows, and i also bought tickets for thursdays and won tix for friday nights show. thursday was the best though.....

my boy just got me tickets for the Miracle on 34th st show and although i like a lot of those acts that are performing, it wouldn't mind seeing a a little TKA, Sa-fire, or maybe Judy torres throwing it down for us.....

I wasn't there because I had no transportation to NJ, else I woulda been. And I dod agree at least Sa-Fire & Cynthia should have been booked for Miracle on 34th street. But maybe KtU is too busy trying to out do Jingle Ball from z100 with the artists the have at miracle.

Robbie, you are right, I dont live in the city, and yes be happy you guys at least get some type of freestyle, cause here in Boston, if I get to hear Stevie B I am lucky, all hear is the top 40 and the same old radio hip hop, Jarule, Nelly and what ever you want to call it, but I think what Freestyle Wizard is trying to say is that KTU is not consistent w/ its format, I actully feel that they tease freestyle fans w/ just a little freestyle, but enough to satisfy the freestyle fans in the tri-state area. Now would I be happy if I was to hear some freestyle, but not enough to satisfy my personal taste, I dont think so, because for that I play my CDs, BECAUSE I WOULD BE FRUSTRATED TO HEAR TOGETHER FOREVER OR THE SAME OLD FREESTYLE THEY PLAY, if KTU was serious about freestyle music, they would be able to realize that yes there are people that want to hear it, proven fact the concert that they threw back to back, time and time again, we freestyle fans are deprived for our music, I just read another thread on how Jeff Z the PD for KTU took out the Bad Boy Joe freestyle mixes, w/ out even letting him know, now is that being fair, and yes I know is all about money and ratings, and corporate stuff, and there is a lack of good quality freestyle being produced, but the truth in the matter is they stopped doing good freestyle due to the lack of radio support, so why produced new good freestyle if stations wont play it. Look at the the demographics in the tri-state area, old school fans from Hot 97, and a heavy latino population that till this day live in the area, plus any new fans wether latino, white ,black or whatever that like freestyle still live in the area, it so sad that we freestyle fans are still holding on to some type of miracle that will give this GENRE OF MUSIC a chance all over again, but I dont see that happening, It would be cool if people like Marc Anthony, that is a huge mega star or India, or JLO, hook up w/ George Lamond , Cynthia, Safire, Coro, TKA and record a freestyle track that would give it some type of exposure to radio all across the country, but all I could do is dream on..........................Besides whats wrong w/ a freestyle artist singing on KTU Miracle on 34th Street, I could name a lot of freestyle artist that could perform there, but no they will have the usual Destiny Child, NSuyc, Mariah Carey,,,,,and the list goes on......MAYBE THERE WILL BE A MIRACLE ON 34TH ST AND A FREESTYLE ARTIST WILL BE THERE....ONLY A MIRACLE.......WELL I WROTE PLENTY, FEEDBACK WILL BE APPRECIATED

And, Mr. Freestyle, you seem mad cool, but, OUCH lol, my ears!! Yeah I wish the show had freestyle too, but at least they (KTU) play SOME freestyle, and support a freestyle show now and then.

Budman, nice post, you made some valid points too, and I agree, some artists that gets alot of radio play SHOULD team up with a freestyle artist, to help them get more radio exposure, publicity etc. Maybe we should pick afew and who we want them to team up with, and start flooding them with emails lol. What do you think??

I missed HunkaBunka's, I couldn't get my hands on tickets for Thursdays show. I almost had a chance to go Friday, but thats a LONG story, and I don't want to relive the trauma of not getting there🙁

First and for most....I'M NOT BITCHING!!!! The fact is none of these artists were given any favors from by performing either of these nights. Most of them weren't even given transportation to get there....NONE OF THEM WERE PAID! The coniditions backstage was a mess, everyone had to wait in a giant kitchen waiting for their chance to perform.
Someone must have made the money from the ticket sales, it had to be KTU and Vito Bruno!
These artists again were forced to perform two nights when originally it was only surpose to be one night, but since it was sold-out so quickly, KTU decided to add a second show and PIMP THESE ARTISTS AGAIN! It's a crying shame that these artists continue to support a radio station that uses them! Big Deal That They Are Not Played In Michigan! That still doesn't change the fact that KTU really does not support them, they do it only TO MAKE MONEY FROM THEM. And about your comment about Safire & Cynthia not being on the playlist.....I refuse to believe that just 3 weeks ago they were #2 on the TOp 8 at 8 with 40,000+ votes, and now all of a sudden a couple of weeks later no one wants to hear the song....."THAT'S BULL" and doesn't make any sense.

BUt it probably won't happen....India and Marc Anthony were Freestyle Artists, and it's sad to say if you ask them, they would deny it! The music that broke them and gave them the opportunity to be on-stage and learn their craft in their minds never happened. All I can say, is keep calling KTU, voice your opinion and maybe someday they'll listen!\

🙁 WOW, FreestyleWizard! They didn't get paid? Can anyone confirm that?

Where I'm from the artists that perform at BocaJoes get treated like they should be, respectfully, and graciously. They get a limo ride up and back (ask Nelsonffwdcruz), they get paid a fair price (don't know what it is though lol), and the fans treat them like royalty. Our freestyle kings & queens, and thats how it should be. The club doesn't serve food, but they have security looking out for them, and they make sure that they're served water or whatever they need to keep them from being thirsty (which dries out your throat, and that isn't good for the voice).

I pay great attention to how they're treated in my town, and if HunkaBunka's wasn't up to those kind of standards then I don't know if I would have wanted to be there at the show.🙁

They make money off the Freestyle Artists as you can see the tickets are sold and if you listen to KTU from 9pm to 12am on Sunday Nights, they have more commericals then music, so as you can see some bills are getting paid thanks to Freestyle.
