DO U SELECT THE ARTIST BECAUSE OF HIS/HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

OR

DO U SELECT THE ARTIST BECAUSE HE/SHE IS UR FAVE??? (like, ur "OPINION" of the music they have made over the years)

juss wondering...i select the artist by their achievements - even if I dont like some of the songs they've made over their lifetime!:blah

i vote accomplishment. without a doubt.
 
Overall accomplishments. There are a lot of well accomplished artist but I think many base it on the artist being there favorite. Accomplishments has to be it for me. 🙂
 
well accomplishments is the major one but my personally preference has a part in it too cuz honestly if i dont like any of ur material i'll give the artist credit for their accomplishments but i wont really care if i dont like the stuff
 
How Bout This?

Well, as much as I like the aforementioned reasons posted before me. I must beg to differ! The measure of which an artist's success may be based on their accomplishments through billboard, record sales, and monitary accumulation!
But, in the freestyle genre many artists may not have the same success as others within these realms but remain just as influential to the freestyle scene! The artists that have given us the most memories, best memories and have lasted the test of time will be considered the kings and queens! It's difficult say if an artist is more influential in the genre because they opened doors for everyone else. Or if they bear more importance because the changed the genre or perpetuated it through a period of weakness! To choose a King or Queen, I believe the basis for decision is purely subjective and not objective. Confused?
In our heads we'll have our own Kings and Queens of freestyle and those are the only people that matter. Since, you the listener will be the ultimate judge as who you listen to.
These polls have been trivial for years. I could only imagine how many people have sat around a parking lot, donut shop or cafe discussing the trivial merits of Stevie, Johnny and George! No less the best songs or chart toppers from, Naya, Suzy, Safire or Cynthia!
Stop and think about what we're debating...........Does it make a difference as to how we feel who OUR favorite is?
The answer is.......
"NO! It doesn't matter! They're my King + Queen.... What difference should it make to you?"

BTW......Stevie and Cynthia are the King and Queen in my Kingdom!
 
My king & queen votes (Stevie & Safire) were based on a combination of both overall accomplishments in their respective careers & they're also my personal favorites.

Pino everything you said is so true I have my favorites there is no doubt about that. There have been a lot of very talented artist who haave not gotten the same shine that alot of those many would choose as there own queen and King nd we have seen this question ask over and over in the end we dont all agree. In all honesty all and every artist who has been in the FS industry deserves some props for trying to do there thing in an industry so hard to achieve in. To date there are many still going strong. As I said your right with what you said Pino 🙂
 
Achievements has to be the #1 factor in the voting, all the artists are great in my opinion as long as their doing are music I love em all.

KING = STEVIE B
QUEEN = SAFIRE
 
It's a combination of both choices for everybody. Accomplishments make you more popular. But personal favorites always make their way into the decision.

No other male group in freestyle can match them kats. They didn't have much competition for the title though.

The "queen" title is a catfight fo yo azz! But I'm a loyal guy. I luv her to death. She gets better every album. She's still doin' it! ...And doin' it well! "Go Harlem!!!"
 
hmmmm stevie b though i cant figure out who the queen would be...theres too many amazing choices

i'd say opinions. because everyone's entitled to their own when choosing their king/queen. besides, there are successful freestyle artists that we dont think would be our king/queen i'm sure. for example stevie's accomplished so much but i'm really not crazy about his way of doing freestyle.
