its been ten years since we died as an art form .
now we are the mix tape, best of this or that, b.s packages, recycled songs, the oldies show ,convention stuff .
yeah some new kids tried it but there not getting no where cuz the pop charts ain't really paying too much attention.we are more past than current.
we have tried everything
from looking for salvation, and by crowning our heros of that classic sound .
yo it still makes money yeah but why .
not cuz of all the bickering behind the scenes or even in broad day light .not cuz the originals got back together to fight for the cause . who really cares what your favorites are when there is nothing new and the promise of something fresh will be sh!!ted on by the hater cuz its not rocking the planet rock again .one sold out show a year.
yeah hip hip hooray
should we all join hands and sing we are the champions now
miami shut its doors to us
chicago is sometimey
new york is cool
texas forgot
the bay area started them new cats but they are real quite lately philly lost its q102 so no more love .
we look for super heros not realizing that they don't exist .
we look for friends knowing that they will stab us in the back to better themselves .any hint of a come back is shot down .what is obviously freestyle is not as obvious to the die hard freestyle fan .
we all grew up but we want to remember it like it used to be .
i wonder how many are going to crytic this by mixing myth with reality.qouting each other without understanding the post in the first place .
the state of freestyle .
if you ask me its in a coma .
the kind that most likely you ain't coming out of so you gather all your closest family members to hold vigle over you everyones talking hoping you blink your eyes or hope that you come out of it .
but there is little hope for normalcy
search through these pages look and see if i haven't said this before in many other ways [ kay seven tka] do your search .
i'm tired i'm worn out by the ignorant die hard i like what i do but you make this more a job than fun .
my back is cut up from all the stabbing ni&&as have finally found my heart and the wound is deep .i could never be selfish i am true blue .you won't find some one like me again because my caliber of person is so few and far between that you won't notice if it bit you .
i never took this for granted cause this was and is me it will always be.
oops gotta go here come all the crytics ..anybody got bandaids

No cryticizing here K7. I get what u r saying. It is so true. By the way, I met you here in Tampa when you did the Freestyle Rush tour here back in July. I told you then and I'll tell you now, you're great. You got much love from me man.

I feel ya Kay,
Freestyle fans and Artist want the what was so bad, that we have begun to even turn on ourselves. It's the old rule Divide and conquer How can Freestyle succeed if we ourselves can't agree what is its any more.

K7, I saw you Saturday @ Club Lido in Revere, MA for the Freestyle Rush 2003 Concert and you, George Lamond & TKA together all TOTALLY KICKED ASS!!! I finally had the privilege to personally meet you in the VIP area just before you went on stage while you were sitting down chillin' with Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock....I thank you from the bottom of my heart for takin the time to chat with me and give me an autograph. Just continue doing what you do best, which is sing/dance and continue to put out the great Freestyle songs you have been for the past 2 decades. I look forward to seeing you guys perform again some time soon. Take care and God Bless.

Steve

Kay, I feel you! I really don't know what else to say! I love my freestyle music and perhaps always will. But "times have changed" and we're never going to get the old days back! And then I see these new freestylers trying their best to do their thing and re-vive Freestyle but I don't see it happening either! It's hard! But it's even harder to accept sometimes. Because there is nothing wrong with our music! I remember back in the days, our music was "happy". It made you feel good! Even sad lyrics about love, made you strong! Made you feel brave! And when I listen to the garbage that they have out today, I say to myself, "why couldn't freestyle stay alive and grow stronger?" Like Rap! And even rap has changed. It's become negative in a lot of ways! I know I have my teenage kids (18 & 19)listening to that garbage! But you are an Artist Kay! In whichever form you want to put it. My husband is "& MORE" and we talk about this a lot here.

Hang in there papa! 😉

I just want to say is that I was given the opportunity to do a freestyle radio show in my area of Amsterdam, NY. And I pump it out from old school to new school to do my part in keeping freestyle music alive.

K7, TKA, TKG- On the real, you don't have to explain yourself to NO one.

You guys should know by now the love you recieve when you perform on stage.

I mean, I was sitting in VIP this past Saturday at Club Lido, and from my point of view the crowd was loving every minute of your performance. Every minute. Every verse.

Freestyle may be in a "coma", but we're the ones that are feeding off it and giving it life, supporting it. I don't want to see Freestyle completely die, I think everyone just needs to wake up, man. Get off their asses and do something about it. There's so much whining and drama that to be honest with you, we're the ones destroying it.

The pioneers of Freestyle should be supporting the newbies just like the newbies supported the pioneers back in the day.

I don't see the "Legend's of Style" doing anything to help fix the problem. Where are they? They're talking about "we're the ones", but almost 8 years later and very few have released anything, with the exception of Coro, Cynthia, and Brenda.

So basically, if "they" don't give a shit, why should we?

Kay...I just want you to know that I have always loved TKA and I always will...I understand whatever choices you and the guys have to make in your careers. Just know that there are so many fans out there who truly love and respect you guys, and I am one of them. Please pass that on to Tony and George, as well. I wish all 3 of you the very best always! I have my own mind and I dont care what other people say about freestyle...I will always be behind it!

Weepppppaaaa very well said, but as we all well know when the facts are stated and the suggestions made people in the end are not trying to hear it. It is common practice to put on the shoulders of one or a few a challenge such as resurrection. We have seen it here on this board plenty of times. Everyone offers advice and critic but in the end the request are the same "Give us something new" and then comes the but "but dont change it from its original format". So in the end how can it be new if not changed just a tad bit. I don't mean to rain on anyones parade but the reality of it is if the artist don't change and play with what was to make it what is, it is gonna remain where it is as it is radio play is out of the question unless there is some change and with change come those that will bring it down for not being what it was way back when. How can an artist grow if the fans are the ones holding them back. Hollllaaaaaaa

Any artist that takes time and signs an autograph and gives it free without a $20 charge is cool in my book! Way to go Kayel!!!

VERY WELL SAID ANGIE! ARTISTS CAN'T GROW IF WE HOLD THEM HOSTAGE TO WHAT ONCE WAS. TKA'S LAST ALBUM WAS BANGIN! THEY HAD GOOD MUSIC ON THERE AND PEOPLE BASHED IT CAUSE IT WASN'T LIKE BACK IN THE DAY...I'M READY FOR SOME NEW SHIT! TKA COULD DO SALSA FOR ALL I CARE AND I'LL STILL BE A HARD CORE FAN TILL MY HAIR GOES GREY AND I CAN'T DANCE NO MORE AND I GO DEAF IN BOTH EARS! NO ME JODA! AND WITH THAT SAID, I'M OUT!

(SLAMS DOOR!!!!!)

hey mr. 7....uhum....chicago....SOMETIMEY???? LMAO 🙂 really dawg, you know chi-town luvs the crew..always has and always will. i have yet to see a tka, k7 or gl show in the windy city that did not rock the foundation, have lines out the door and leave peeps talkin' bout it for some time afterwards...you guys rule bro!!

look....forget the peeps that wont give you a shot to try new things...they might have been fans of your music, but not real fans of YOU, the group/artist/writer/producer. it's great to have fans of your music, but to have fans or supporters of you as a professional in the biz in all your endevours, one that would allow you to grow like we ALL do in whatever we do in our professional lives is the magic in this all. strive to please yourself first bro and those who truly support you guys will stand by you thru thick and thin and will be the ones who you reach and please in turn....they are the ones that will feel you and they are the ones who will appreciate your efforts. expand and grow and let us grow with you...keep on bro....KEEP ON!!!

K7.....it's ok. I think cf.com made us realize that there is no hope for this music but I hope you continue rockin' with George and just bringing out the best in you. I'm rockin' your new material and so far I think it sounds sweet. Let it be known that I will never forget the past, I will always cherish freestyle! And if the new freestyle is bangin' to me....then bring it on as well. Just keep being you K...your a very insightful person.

TO BE OR NOT TO BE IS THE QUESTION.......

KAY, I HAVE GROWN TIRED OF ALL THINGS YOU MENTIONED AND STOPPED DJING
IN THE CLUBS AND MAKING TAPES,CD'S,ETC... BECAUSE NOBODY REALLY PAID ATTENTION TO THIS MUSIC ANYMORE. IT IS PEEPS LIKE YOU, ME, AND THE OTHERS NOT MENTIONED WHO HAVE THIS MUSIC BURNING INSIDE OF THEM WITH MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT.. JUST THIS PAST WEEKEND A FRIEND OF MINE WHILE WATCHING STEVIE B PERFORM MENTIONED HE PICKED UP SOME CD'S FOR 5 BUCS AND 2 WERE FREESTYLE, I SAID COOL , LET'S WALK OUT TO YOUR CAR SO I CAN CHECK THEM OUT, HE SAID "I DON'T HAVE THEM IN MY CAR"......
JUST LIKE THE OTHERS:THEY ARE CHEERING IT WHEN IT'S IN FRONT OF THEM AND WHEN EVERYONE IS WATCHING THEY HAVE THE RAP,REGGAE,TECHNO,ROCK,WHATEVER ON....
IF YOU LOVE FREESTYLE MUSIC THEN PLAY IT LOUD AND BE PROUD OF IT AND IF YOU RECORD SONGS FOR THIS GENRE OF MUSIC THEN DO IT BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT AND LOVE DOING IT.....
I AM GOING TO START A NEW THREAD:WHAT'S IN YOUR PLAYER RIGHT NOW????
LET'S SEE HOW MANY REALLY HAVE FREESTYLE 24/7
I AM AND ALWAYS WILL BE FREESTYLE TO THE BONE! I WILL NOT CHANGE FOR ANYONE AND WHEN YOU IN MY HOUSE OR CAR, YOU WILL HEAR FREESTYLE MUSIC
PERIOD!
I HAVE GOTTEN BACK IN THE BIZZ BECAUSE OF ALL THE @#$%^%$#@@# TO MAKE SURE OUR MUSIC STAYS GOING.I AM BACK 110% AND IN THE STUDIO AT LEAST 20HRS A WEEK WORKING ON TRACKS AND REMIXING OLD TRACKS FOR A NEW FLAVOR. I'M NOT GONNA GIVE UP ON THIS MUSIC AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU.
