The day after The Super Bowl; former Baseball power hitter Jose Canceco talk to the NY daily news about his new book being pushed up in dates. In his book Canseco rats out all the guys who took steriods. The names were:

Juan Gonzelas
Ivan Rodriguez
Rafel palmero(In addition to Viagra :sperm )
Mark McGuire

he says that he shot the steriods in all of them. In addition; Canseco calls out former Texas rangers owner and Current President GW Bush. Canseco says; Bush knew there was steriod use in the clubhouse.

Dudes in the locker room with their pants down getting shot in the butt with steriods. Whoa, what a sight!!!
 
Oh My God.. I hate it when a book comes out, whether it'd be a former coach or former athlete, and write and dig up all the bochinches..How pathetic is that? Do they have friends after all is said? Canceco shouldnt be talking crap.. how many times did he get arrested for beating up on his wife?? Please.. he's a LOSER!

What's the big deal if a player uses steroids (besides the obvious? /legal?)

If they want to f*ck up their own bodies with drugs... that's on them.

He's just trying to get attention and money because his career went backwards. But, his story does have some truth about the steroids and he's probably right on some of them.

No question about steriods in sports.. Just think that its tacky for former athletes to put out all dirt of collegues he was probably friends with..Its just not right.
 
True, but that's Canseco!!! He's going to be a wanted man now, but don't think he cares.

Well, steroids enhance performance, so it would call the legitamacy of the games won by the teams they were on.

Also, if they are breaking records on steroids (ex: number of homeruns hit) they are not legit, and the records were set by players who had not used.
 
You make a good point Gina. But, it's going to make things interesting. The question is; does anybody even care? The point is, it seems that many fans like to see homeruns.
 
They'll going to break records but in everyone's eyes, there's always going to be that debate that steroids helped. See Barry Bonds, because he's going to have an asterisk next to his 73 homerun record.
 
Lets just hope that these guys have proof that there is steriods before we throw people under the bus! If McGuire used them, then his recored is irrelivant, if Sosa corked all his bats, his records are irrelevant.
 
Its sad.. Steriods have been around the sporting industry for ever.. We dont really know who did anything on their own merits w/out enhancing themselves one way or another..Im sure there are a lot of Closet Steriod users..

The bottom line is Jose Canseco is a rat. No one likes a rat. Also, he’s not doing it to clean up the sport. He’s not doing it because he put up his numbers legitimately and feels slighted by those who didn’t. He’s doing it because he needs the money. He’s doing it because he resents the hell out of Mark McGwire.

He’s doing it because he’s a rat…once again, just because he’s a rat, doesn’t mean he’s not telling the truth. Then again, is there a guy in the game less credible than Canseco? He’s a nut-job, a felon, he needs jack and he’s bitter.

Does anyone really give a damn what he has to say?

Despite all that, could he be telling the truth? Maybe. But how are you going to prove it? There’s no retroactive testing. It’s his word against their word and no one really gives a damn about his word…the other problem is, the guy lied for years about his steroid use, but now he’s telling the truth? Now, we’re supposed to believe him? How does that work? I didn’t…I didn’t…I didn’t. Now, I’ve got a book to sell, so, all right I did it, now I'm telling the truth, so you should believe me; just like Pete Rose.

Today; Jason Giambi had a big press confrence to apologize. But it will be interesting on how all this will turn out. Will this whole era of big Homeruns(1998-2002) seems like a big lie?
 
It will probraly make ken griffey jr a suspect now. Why has he been hurt so much for the past 4 years. In the late 90's he was hitting near 50 HR a year.
