OMG this is so hectic in miami right now!!!

but wanted to get online and just thank every one jumping in and taking part in the Tai Shan ball II.

the artist: connie, sandee, emmanuel and D'luna (the chinadoll)
I am blessed to have 2 early pioneers of freestyle from the miami camp (from 1983)and one future legend diva to be. also orlandos emanuel.

the websites..jack g and clubfreestyle and Jorge Ojeda and freestylemusic. Im glad to finally have something to have you both work together and show the rest of the industry and community that we are one united front. especially (and no disrepect for all the other regions who have blossomed through the years).....
But especially coming out of NEW YORK and MIAMI!!

NEW YORK AND MIAMI, cuz IF it wasnt for new york and Miami and that Unity that existed between the two..none of us would be here.
all the OLD SKOOL peeps feel me on this.

right now i want everyone to take time and remember why this music and this scene means so much for you. if you are inthe industry. remember when you were not, and you were a dreamer and hope to one day become part of it. remember how the music world was always out of reach, but freestyle was always in your hood. your peeps were always represented. your way of growing up was not overlooked and how the artist always represented that. remember how freestyle always made those dreams seem more real and just a hand reach away.remeber when you first went to the recording studio to lay down your first track.

remeber how freestyle tought you that you were capable of achieving anything, becoming a ghetto superstar (lol) and having the capablity to lounch you to the masses and beyond your beliefs.that you were good enough to be next to any other "pop" artist on the radio.

remember the music and culture and scene that told you you were beautiful with your full lips and wide hips. your way of dress and your way of talk.

remember the soundtrack of your life.
remember those who you loved and arent with us anyomore. how much the music meant to them. remember how they loughed, how they sang,how they cried.
(how you guys would fight over a freestyle cd or go to all those shows).
remeber your freinds from the past. your high school and jr high days.
skiping school, jumping in lowriders and cruising the beach.the freestyle sound booming out of boom boxes and car sound systems.
rememebr the first time you fell in love and the freestyle records that became your anthems.

remember the smell of fresh vinyl.
remember when we not only just had the music...but we had a world of our own.

If todays generation only knew or had one glimpse of what it was like.
there is no feeling in the world.

For this i am throwing the taishan ball and for this in the coming months there will be planed weekly freestyle parties in the downtown miami and south beach scene.

it will be a new scene for a new generation with a 21 year old history of styles,fashion, people and music styles.


so far WMC 2003 is interesting. while all the big wigs still insist in feeding radio with skinny stringy blonde european acts with low energetic monotone records (let alone they cant sing live or shake that ass like freestyle peeps can)and still bitch about the recesion and bad times for the industry, the electro clash and electro break parties have made more noise. In the trance scene..electro bass and breaks is more and more in favor and sneaking its way up.

groups like "darkbeat" feat Frank lords now have a follow up single to darkbeat and its slow freestyle driven Breaks.
Sonique perfoming at coliseum for a teen gay crowd (usually favors house music). Rockell still up there and also perfomed at DANCESTAR.
madonna and poul okenfold still pumping Break tracks.
new freestyle records coming out of the electroclash scene and electro breaks scene.ministy of sound,astralwerks, moonshine etc and many european labels becoming more interested in electro.

a new generation is letting the industry know its times for change and they are favoring the new sounds of mutating freestyle and electrofunk driven dance music.

this is a good sign.

this wont bring the old world of freestyle back...but will open the doors for a new generation of artist and open the door for a scene to totaly re invent itself in the hands of a new generation.


oh, and add......a huge freestyle party invading the core center of
south beachs strong hold of house music. Smak in the middle of what is known to be south beachs gay house mecca....club score on a FREESTYLE FRIDAY NIGHT.On WMC week.
that is equivalant to have freestyle artist perfom at a present day ROXY saturday night with john blair. UNHEARD OF!!!

they said it would never happen.
but that what they been telling us since day 1.

now..21 years later..they will soon eat their words.

but one huge thank you to all the fans. becouse with out the fans and the beleivers and the artist of tomorow.......none of us would be around(old and new skool artist). Not only the artist...but all of us behind the scenes, the managers, label reps, promoters, djs, the list gose on.

people! not knowing me, or anyone in the circle of performers for tai shan ball........

she took money out of her own pocket, made flyers on her own,drove from ft louderdale all the way to miami went out and distributed flyers all over south beach over the weekend.
it wasnt till after all that that i got a chance and talked to her on the phone to introduce myself cuz she left me a message!

i was like "YOU WHAT!"

people this is what you call CRAZY love for the music and the scene.

so i do want to send love and recognition to her .....

Wow Jonpito!

I went to an ElectroClash pool party yesterday with Marlon (aka: BBOY3000 on CF),
& some freinds, & u werent there.
It was kool to see Avenue D perform their electroclash-freestyle jam "Do I Look Like A Slut"? ...lol. & W.I.T. performing their stuff, ...them 3 girls were hott! The Brunette was so kool!! I Love her!!
