Hey guys- its been a super busy month in the world of freestyle. Over at KTU, our listener research has told us that our Sunday night is a consistant ratings winner...big congrats to Judy for keeping a steady audience....Our phones have never been so busy before!!!!

In other news....freestyle can now be heard in Phoenix, AZ on the radio as well as netstreamed on the new X103 in Phoenix from 9-11PST as part of their Saturday night dance party featuring Staten Island's own DJ James Anthony. Can you imagine- a whole city being exposed to freestyle on a large scale for the first time!? You can listen on the net at www.103x.net

Also- tonight, May 26th 2004 marked the return of freestyle music to the legendary college radio station B91 (its former name)- college radio at Kingborough CC in Brooklyn NY. At 11 PM, DJ James Anthony hit the airwaves with a live in-studio mix set featuring songs unheard on the Brooklyn airwaves in over a decade. Plans are now in the works to bring back "the rhythm of the city", on a small scale, every Wednesday night. I myself will be doing live mixshow sets as well as acting as a consultant in the development of this project.

Lastly- May 30th at the Copa! We are expecting a phenomenal turnout, and myself and my pal Mickey Garcia are gonna turn it out on the main dance floor. Hope to see you all there!

It's going to be a busy summer freestyle heads...from Arizona to Brooklyn NY- always hookin it up!

Sincerely
James Anthony

You can check out a tribute site that I did to my former station at www.therhythmofthecity.com. The site includes some audio stuff that fans of the station may remember.

Former station alumni include:

Mickey Garcia
Speedy (WKTU)
Geronimo (WBLS/WKTU/Sirius)
Ralphie Marino (ex-KTU morning man now holding it down at Star in Boston)
Tracey Cloherty (VP of Programming at Hot 97)
myself (VP/A&R and Dance Promotion at Robbins Entertainment)
to name a few.

Hey everyone- I'm glad so many fellow brooklynites and ex-brooklynites alike have so many good memories of B91. Right now I'm in the process of setting something really special up to be done on a weekly basis in conjunction with the staff there. I will surely keep everyone updated. If you love dance music, and especially freestyle, you won't be disappointed.

Resurrects freestyle in B91?! James ... what are you talking about? There has already been a old school/new school freestyle show called the "Freestyle Dimension" on that station for almost 2 years that is on every Monday Night and is hosted by DJ Sabastian Soto. He plays all kinds of new school music like euro, canadian, etc and he also plays all the old school music that never gets any exposure on the airwaves other than the classics. I should know 'cause me and all my other girlfriends listen to that show all the time and we know the DJ personally. I assume you plan to be on that horrible Wednesday night show that always plays the same old freestyle music every week and that DJ who host's is a real jerk. I just hope you know what you got yourself into.
