LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson returned several antiques to settle a lawsuit with a gallery that accused him of not paying part of a nearly $380,000 bill, attorneys said Monday.

Kamad Enterprise, which owns Mayfair Gallery, claimed Jackson still owed $128,875 toward $378,875 worth of merchandise he purchased in May, according to Saul Reiss, an attorney for the company.

Jackson agreed to return items that included a Chinese chest, a mirror, clocks and a barometer, from that sale and a past sale, Reiss said.

Jackson's attorney, Brent Ayscough, confirmed the settlement and said Jackson did not pay the company any money to settle the case. He said he did not know the exact dollar value of the returned items but that it was "in the neighborhood" of the disputed amount.

Mayfair Gallery sells mostly 19th-century European furniture.

I know...what is it with celebrities that make them think they can get over? Like the time Oprah wanted to go inside a store but it was closed and they wouldn't let her in, and she tried to make a racial issue out of it! BITCH! You're not paying me!! My job is, and when it's time to go home, I'm out!

The whole deal with Oprah was, she thought the world revolves around her, just like all "customers" think, which is how it is in the U.S.A. But in other parts of the world, especially Europe, the customer is rarely right, and not one store will stay open to 'accomodate' a client no-matter what thier social status. By the same token, not one famous european movie star would think a store would stay open for them, just because they are 'famous', they all act just like real people, and are much more accessable then'famous people' over here are. I know this firsthand, whenever I am back over in Paris I usually see someone who is well known in the movies. Usually I have seen Cathrine Denueve, who is very famous worldwide, having a cup of coffee and a tart, no security in sight, not one single papparazzi stalker in sight, she even speaks to her fans and does not scream for help, or try to ignore them. Go figure.
