yes it's true. Safire has retired from the freestyle music genre.

But Safire will be back under her maiden name with a new sound, after so many years, it was time to move on. she is grateful to all of her fans over the years who have supported her, but she feels this move is the best thing for her.

there is more info about this in the freestyle music forum

Damn now i'm sad.
She is one hell of a singer.I guess a change is what she wants but not needed.I'll check out the music forum.
I'm glad she is still singing though.:cool

yes she will still be around, but i'm not sure when her new music will come out. hopefully soon.

change is necessary if you want your career to go further.

unfortunately freestyle is no longer in demand on radio stations and by major record labels.

many artists both known and unknown have chosen this road and many more will but every so often they do a freestyle song here and there

Yeah but you know Safire....

Its cool that shes gonna continue.
Its the name change thing ya know.
Other freestyle artist "India" just to name one moved on but kept her name and today shes very successful world wide.

Oh well I'll live with it i guess.

I believe Safire will shine in whatever she chooses to do, she has an incredible voice and is personaly one of my favorite freestyle artists, she will be missed.

WOW! I turly wish you guys were around some months back last year when some asses were trashing her.Trust me you guys wil not be dissapointed with her new stuff, it will not be freestyle, but it will be her very distinct great vocals as always that will make the songs hits.

Message from Safire:
As you may have already heard, as of December 31, 2002; I will no longer be performing as Safire.
I would like to take out the time to Thank all the Radio stations, DJ's, Bookings Agents, Managers, Club Owners, Promoters, Record Companies and Fans around the world for supporting Safire. It's been a great run and I had a blast.
Thank you for all the love and support that was given to me for over 15 years.
