Crystal2001: Wazzzzuuuuuppp all my Freestyle Freaks!? Tonight is the night I finally get to interview an artist that I look up to for the man that he is, and for the artist that he is as well. So with that said...How ya doin Elear? Anything you'd like to say before we begin?

Arben Mulosmani: Hello 🙂...lol

Crystal2001: Alright to start off this interview, We all know your artist name is Elear but you have changed it to your real name which is Arben Mulosmani. Why is that?

Arben Mulosmani: For the record, My full name is a name that I conduct business with and everyday life. As a recording artist, I will always be Elear.

Crystal2001: "Elear" happens to be a very unique name. How did you get it and why that name out of all names?

Arben Mulosmani: It came about from my backround. My nationality is Albanian, and since I'm the first Albanian doing Dance music, I'd figure I'd pick a name that represents my backround without being cheesy about it I guess. Going back a thousands of years ago, Albanians were known as illyrians. I took that name, chopped it up, Added an E and R and got ELEAR.

Crystal2001: Wow thats really interesting. You are very proud of your nationality, something we don't see in many people these days.

Arben Mulosmani: I guess to each thier own...

Crystal2001: Alright now what I really wanted to know is how you got into the business at the age of 15. You were so young!

Arben Mulosmani: You're right, It is young, and naive at that. It started from posting on an old bulletin board called " The Freestyle Nation BB " I first posted about my love for freestyle and how I wanted to start into the business. Down the line, A producer saw how serious I was about it and e-mailed me. That producer was Gerald Godbout the 3rd ( Detour Records Inc. ) We discussed idea's over the phone on how to go about the song and so forth. He also taught me a thing or 2 about having labels and thier twists and turns. From there I got involved with Michael Lunn ( President Of PrymeTyme Records ) who continued the knowledge. Through years I learned about artists and thier " Trials and tribulations " and so forth.

Crystal2001: So being a Freestyle artist is something you always wanted to be. Was it tough for you considering you were at a young age to be working in the music industry?

Arben Mulosmani: It didn't seem hard at the moments I was going through them because I was so into and determined in doing what I always wanted. But, as I look back and explain now, It was hard. Since you are young, You don't always get taken seriously. Even now, I'm 22 and people still feel I am young to be a manager or to handle my own affairs along with my artists. You easily see as things progress and you meet who you do, who are the real people and who are the phoney's very easily and quickly.

Crystal2001: Well they need to take another look and take you seriously. And your right, there are a lot of phonies out there, wanna give them advice while we are at it?..lol Cause if I were you, I'd tell them how it is. But this is something you do not have to answer..lol

Arben Mulosmani: lol...All I have to say is, You know who you are and in due time, you will feel what you have done. And to those that experiance what I have, What hurts you, Makes you stronger. Remember, once is a mistake, do it again, and you are a fool.

Crystal2001: Amen to that...I hope these people are out there reading this...lol...Now Do you have any advice for those who want to get into the music business? Because I for one would like to become a producer one of these days, and I'd like to know what I'll be getting myself into.

Arben Mulosmani: Honestly, do a lot of research. Go to any bookstore and buy what is recommended about the music business. Know contracts and the law. Always keep those books as a handbook, You can never know too much about the music business or Law so keep feeding your brain...And 1 more thing... Don't be so quick to believe and trust anyone based on someone being a nice business partner. Keep in mind, Business is Business and never to mix it with your personal life.

Crystal2001: Alright so everyone who wants to be in the business, do what the man says....I gotta start doing my research then....And I agree with you on trusting whoever you see when it comes to business. Have you ever made that one mistake where you mixed up bussiness with your personal life?

Arben Mulosmani: Fortunately I haven't but, 1 individual has done it to me with thier own personal life.

Crystal2001: And that is the one that should not happen when it comes to bussiness. And now I have some interesting questions to ask you... You were the one to write the lyrics of "Girl why did you" right? What made you write a song about heartbreak? Was that how you were feeling at the time or is there another story behind the song?

Arben Mulosmani: There is a story behind it. The story is that of my 1st cousin and his girlfriend at the time. Each time he would tell me about his problems with her and so forth. I wrote down piece by piece of what I was told. Later, when they broke up I put the pieces into a song and got " Girl Why Did You. "

Crystal2001: And I hope the girl has heard the song..😉...Now I read something in your biography off your site that I couldn't believe...You needed vocal lessons when you first started as a singer? I mean, after hearing you sing accapella, of course you can understand that I couldn't believe that.

Arben Mulosmani: *laughing* I believe everyone is born to sing, they just need the right coaching or guidance. I had about 6 months worth of vocal lessons before recording Girl Why Did You. And yes, she heard the song and was in complete shock.... lol

Crystal2001: Well all I got to say is those 6 months of vocal lessons had paid off then, because you have a strong voice that's filled with so much passion.

Arben Mulosmani: *Blushing* Thats sweet, Thank you so much for that.

Crystal2001: Awwww no problem sweety. I only speak the truth...

Arben Mulosmani: *blushing* please continue now lol

Crystal2001: Now did "Girl why did you" get the response you wanted?

Arben Mulosmani: Honestly, I didn't expect more than people who were close friends or relatives to accept and like the song. I got a massive response of only people liking the song. Based on it's catchy hook and style of the song. So basically, I was proud of what had been done.

Crystal2001: You should be proud because you were doing your thing at such a young age and the song was great. Now speaking of the response to this song...Your first performance is always something to remember. How was it for you?

Arben Mulosmani: It was unexepected and shocking at the least. The first performance was in Spanish harlem. I was so nervous considering I am white and I didn't know how the crowd would react to a white group performing in thier area and doing freestyle. At the time I was with Joey ( who was my partner and who did backround vocals on Girl Why Did You ) He's the one who convinced me to go up and get it over with. So my intension was just to sing and get it over with. We go up and start to perform, it was a mixed response at first. I close my eyes out of myself being nervous, others thought it was to show my emotions to the song. After the first verse, I open my eyes and I saw 2 rows of ladies just looking and swaying to the music. Beyond that it was guys breakdancing and so forth. I wanted to smile but couldn't lol.

Crystal2001: Wow, I would say it was a great response and a moment to forever remember...lol

Arben Mulosmani: Definately....We had alot of rappers, dancers, etc. offering thier services, But couldn't go through with it ( those details I can't go into ). At the end, We had mothers, daughters, even gang members shaking our hands comparing us to TKA.

Crystal2001: But then why did you stop recording after that song?

Arben Mulosmani: Honestly, to get a better knowledge of the music business. I can record 100 songs and perform untill im 100 years old. Sooner or later, Im going to reach into my pocket and find what, Lint? Its great to perform and record, but we also have to make money from it also If we plan to make it a profession.

Crystal2001: And with that said, Theres been arguments with Freestyle being dead or alive. Is your opinion that it is dead if your not gonna make any money out of it?

Arben Mulosmani: Absolutely not. Don't get me wrong, I didn't say I wasn't making money off of freestyle. I'm speaking in general, For all styles. The Fans are who keep Freestyle Alive. Not the Money involved.

Crystal2001: Alright so what do you think? There are soo many people who I've asked this same question, and they have mostly all said that Freestyle is dead. I mean..If you were to read the boards, there has been arguments about this.

Arben Mulosmani: Freestyle never died, it just took a long nap. And people keep poking at it to wake up, and it hasn't yet.

Crystal2001: Now how do we wake it up? Do you have any ideas of your own that will help Freestyle grow? We now have 2 stations that are playing Freestyle in the NY area (Latino mix and KTU), we also have clubs and even the Diamante show to have Freestyle acts, Freestyle web-sites and internet radio stations, what else is there that we can do?

Arben Mulosmani: To stop making bits and pieces of freestyle in the media. Such as Diamante show, Websites and so forth. They are great ideas and do help, But, to take all those elements and people, and use it to make 1 huge media player in the market....There is so much more to it. I could seriously write a book on it let alone tell you in 1 interview.

Crystal2001: I wish you were in the Freestyle File chat last night...People asked the same question I asked you..I would have liked them to see what you had to say. Maybe this interview will get across to all those who wants to help.

Arben Mulosmani: If it's meant for them to see it, they will 🙂

Crystal2001: Now with the growing of Freestyle, we all know it involves all the new school artists. Bad Boy Joe just came out with a CD and everyone was excited about it because this volume had all new school in it. But when some people heard it, a few complained about it because it was not mixed but more like fade in/fade out. Do you think its something to complain about or do you feel that its a step forward
for the new school artists and Freestyle itself?

Arben Mulosmani: That's another major twisted problem. I am a fan before an artist and for myself, I appreciate anything that gets new skool noticed. The overall fan base of Freestyle fans are made up of people who are never happy and have to critique everything. No matter how good or perfect it is. Bottom line, Bad Boy Joe didn't have to include new skool, but he did. That's all. Everyone should be greatful.

Crystal2001: I personally think this is why Freestyle is at where it is right now, and like you said...Everyone should be greatful that Bad Boy Joe did just that whether it was not mixed or not. It's a start and I give him props.

Arben Mulosmani: There you go.

Crystal2001: All right now this is a question I think IM going to ask every artist that I interview...What do you think about the younger generation being into Freestyle? And when I say younger generation, I mean those who are around the ages of 5 and those who are in there teens.

Arben Mulosmani: Freestyle is innocent. There is no profanity, nothing immoral, etc. I think it's great for them to be into it. I was even younger when I was into it, so why not?

Crystal2001: Now that is what I like to hear. Some people can't even believe how I and others got into Freestyle..But why not?

Arben Mulosmani: I don't understand why it would be a problem or how they wouldn't believe someone so young could be into it.

Crystal2001: I'm glad you agree with me. And what is up with the underground/rare Freestyle artists and songs not getting the credit they deserve?

Arben Mulosmani: The music business and being successful in it is about 2 things:

Arben Mulosmani: 1. Who you know

Arben Mulosmani: 2. Timing

Arben Mulosmani: Some people work for years and years in the music business and never get recognized, you also have those who make 1 song for fun and blow up into stardom. Then you have those who are horrible vocalists but great entertainers or sometimes are bad at both but have a good image.

Crystal2001: It just pisses me off sometimes. You ask someone who says they know everything about Freestyle, and the only artists they know is TKA and Judy Torres..lol

Arben Mulosmani: You can't blame them. Those are the few who were promoted heavily. Not every label wants to back up an artist they aren't sure of. Yea, thier song can be great, But if there is something missing, then you remain underground or nothing at all.

Crystal2001: I love all the popular artists, but all I gotta say is...Others should have gotten the chance and credit that they did.

Arben Mulosmani: 3 Major things to keep in mind when involved in the entertainment business:

Arben Mulosmani: 1. Image

Arben Mulosmani: 2. Attitude and knowing your limits

Arben Mulosmani: 3. Knowledge of business

Crystal2001: Wait but there are rare songs out there that are missing NOTHING. I know songs that I like even better than the popular hits.

Arben Mulosmani: Like I said, Sometimes the right people don't get to hear those great songs. Or maybe they just don't have the right image. There is always something...

Crystal2001: I agree with you...I guess we need to get to work then. We need artists who are serious and would do everything in their power to make this happen.

Arben Mulosmani: You also need producers, promoters, and a label to do and be the same. Alot of people today do it for a quick buck just as they did back then.

Crystal2001: It's how it's always going to be..But I can't say for all artists. Now that makes me want to ask you the most important question...WHAT have you been doing lately?..lol..You mentioned earlier about being a manager?

Arben Mulosmani: I established my own company (1 A.M. Productions & Management Inc.) I've been developing my artists and doing work with others along with producers and labels. Whether it be Editing or Development Or simply writing a song or two for them, Is what I've been doing.

Crystal2001: That is awesome. Who are your artists that we will be looking out for?

Arben Mulosmani: The ones I have are...Elear ( that's me * Ury, Laura Monaco, & Joey Sist. I, along with 2 of my artists, ae having a meeting within the next week or so to record new material.

Crystal2001: I've heard you and Ury sing to me not too long ago, and all I gotta say is I am very impatient. When do you think an albulm will come out? Or at least a single of some sort?..lolol

Arben Mulosmani: lol I'm not certain but what I can say is, within the next month or 2 at the most. Don't hold me to it because you never know what happens.

Crystal2001: I feel you and as a fan and a friend, I'll wait as long as it takes. I want to let everyone know who is reading this interview, that what we will be recieving from Elear, is worth it.

Arben Mulosmani: awwww lol... *cough* YEA, she's right!

Crystal2001: LMFAO..I know Im right. I know good talent when I see it. You've always said "IM a fan before an artist"...And I can tell that your telling nothing but the truth. Everytime we speak your talking about a hot song or just talking about Freestyle...( wink )..Now I'd like to know if there will be a album release party when the time comes? Cause you know...Im there..

Arben Mulosmani: That's true and....absolutely lol

Crystal2001: The passion is in your typing, in your voice, and in your eyes. And with that said..I want to thank you for taking the time to let me interview you. You are an awesome person let alone a awesome artist.

Arben Mulosmani: *blushing* Thank you for having me, The pleasure was all mine. Remember, the site is www.only1am.net...... 🙂
